Final Fantasy Review by RetroGamer3

This is where it all started. Final Fantasy 1 for Nintendo. I’ll talk about it, play it and transport myself into the game. Enjoy. Facebook www.facebook.com Twitter twitter.com

Classic Game Room HD reviews SLITHER for Colecovision. This game has a copyright of 1983 and plays a lot like Centipede or Millipede. It requires the Colecovision Roller Controller trackball and plays like a real arcade stand up machine. Graphics are above average for the early 80′s, gameplay is awesome and Slither is a retro gamer classic for the ages. This old school game is from Century II. You play as a laser cannon or something resembling a gun turret. Your only mission is to survive as you eliminate wave after wave of enemy snakes, dinosaurs and pterodactyls. Watch out for bushes and rocks, shoot enemies above and below you. Collect bonus points and select your difficulty level. As far as Centipede clones go this may be the best. Classic Game Room reviews Slither for the CGRHD program and gives it two thumbs up. Always check back for daily Classic Game Room reviews of brand new games and old school classics. Only CGR does PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Sega Genesis, NES, Atari, Magnavox and Colecovision reviews. Who else has a track ball out there anymore!!?? Will Slither ever make it to XBLA Xbox Live Arcade or Wii Virtual Console??

  1. cool the real original final fantasy

  2. Awesome music!

  3. Your not just a generic video game reviewer, you borrow some from other reviewers I believe, but I think you are pretty original. Also, the opening is pretty good and one of the few that I can sit through. Nice review too, but I’m not sure whether to get this or the ps1 version. I want to have an original experience, would you recommend that I wait or just get the graphically improved ps1 version?

  4. I’d like to point out that Dragon Warrior (which became Dragon Quest to today’s audience) was a MAJOR competitor with Final Fantasy, which was why it was a shock when the two companies merged to become “Square Enix”.

That and the similarities to the American success of an RPG known as D&D are far too close to be disregarded as coincidence…

  5. Thats EXACTLY why they called it Final Fantasy

  6. YEA canada FTW!

  7. it should be noted that there were plenty of CRPGs out there at the time, but most were on home computers. We had Wizardry, (which inspired (caused?) Dragon warrior/quest), Ultima, Bards tale and plenty of other games. It was just the consoles, which were aimed at a younger audience at the time, that were low on CRPGs. I do prefer the home computer CRPGs at the time to this, they were a lot deeper in their structure and ruleset.

  8. @bobx9000 My thoughts exactly.

  9. @playskooler I really don’t think anyone but you cares.

  12. ITS N.E.S.! God why do so many youtube reviewers say nes……its like nails on a goddamn chalk board

  13. @RetroGamer3: Omfg! Dude! Thank you so much! I’m playing through this game right now, and have been for a few weeks now, and I never noticed the Respond Rate option before until you pointed it out to me just now! I’m all the way at the Earth Cave with the Vampire boss and I’ve played ALL this way on the tediously slow Respond Rate of 1! All this time I’ve been thinking, “I wish I could make these messages go a little faster. Then this game would be perfect.” THANK YOU SO MUCH! <3

  14. Final Fantasy for NES literaly is one of the most overrated games ever. It’s annoying as hell and it might as well be another one of the overrated Dragon Warriors. Dragon Warrior 1 is a good game. Just my opinion but what’s the point of a game that you can’t actually control a person, just a group of 4 people that have to fight tons of enemies. Just makes me so confused why it’s so popular.

  15. @PrimeConsciousness the enix is killing square indeed.

  16. just bought final fantasy 1 and 2 for gameboy :O!!!

  17. PrimeConsciousness

I definately think the FF series is Square’s Final Fantasy. Their MMOs and pretty much any FF title after 7 (except 9) was complete crap for most western players. The company is doomed in western markets unless they replace alot of corporate folks. The Enix is killing the Square.

  18. @thatguysreviews enix made dragon warrior, square made final fantasy, now they’re partners

  19. but didnt the guy from final fantasy work on dragon warrior? or did he only actually work on it when it became dragon quest?

  20. I have the strategy guide, so when you said that it’s super rare I was all excited .. unfortunatly it sell for 15$ on Ebay. :( I must have read this strategy guide 2000 times.

  21. lol bisexual belt xD

  22. @RetroGamer3 Great Review!!

  23. ……Westwood?

  24. OMG thanks a lot for the vid. My dad bought me the trackball when I Was a kid I Played that game for hours, I remember the sound when you die just like if it was yesterday.

  25. Dang i loved the movie

  26. BTw, i think thats my favorite review of yours. Im just a tad too young for colecovision. First console was the nes. I have pretty much every console between nes and xbox 360. All im am lacking is neo geo, 3do, jaguar, Fm town, pc-fx and i think i have everything else. I did not care for anything pre-nes. But now i freaking want a CV just to play this damn fucking game , TRACK BALLS FTW !!!!!!!

  27. Wtf, nobody posted a commentary since last week? I mean WTF!!! ??? Thats the freaking future of gaming, NON STOP TRACKBALL ACTION !!!

  28. Thats it… Now i want a colecovision .

  29. hey bro your italian right? I’m sorry man but I cant help picturing you sucking dick to that intro music,

kinda like some guido gay porn type shit

haha you wops are funny man.

  30. My mom bought me the waste money of roller controller that could only play this one game! It was fun at the time!

  31. playing this game without using the mute button is worth a medal of honor

  32. 11,666 viewer :D 666 xD

  33. man this looks like fun.

  34. @johnwx777 probably because game companies are too obsessed with buffing the output of the hardware it already has, also, the graphical differences would probably freeze if you tried to use a rollerball on newer games. imean, look how big this controller is, its pretty memory consuming on the carts it uses.

  35. this game looks like more fun than any COD game.

(not really a good comparison, anything is more fun than those games)

  36. Slither, of course, was included when somebody bought the Roller Controller add-on for the ColecoVision. You got a great game and a great peripheral for your money.

  37. Reminds me of the movie Slither from 2006

  38. Most annoying sound effects in a sperm shooter ever

  39. i wonder why we’re not seeing modern trackball controllers.
I’ve played back in the day Missile Command on the arcades with the trackball and the control was miles better and more responsive than any home version.
In fact,it feels like the ball of the older-non optical- mouse but in reverse.

  40. I really loved this game and some son of a bitch stole it from me when I was about 8. There are a few things that I really want to find out in the afterlife and one of them was who the prick was that took this game from me.

  41. WhoStoleMyGimmick

@theking21083 Hell, the C64 beats the PS3, let alone ColecoVision

  42. Great thing abotu ColecoVision is that they saved so much money by licensing the lesser known obscure arcade games that are clones of more popular titles, like Slither and Cosmic Avenger. Such a great system.

  43. Those snakes don’t look nearly aggressive as the centipedes do.

  44. Thanks, right on the nose.

  45. JamesStrangeStuart

    “the flight of the bumblebee”

  46. that was so damn funny and awesome when you used the track ball like a record player, top 5 stars from me!

  47. What’s the classical orchestration piece that’s played in the game in a very crude yet awesome way?

  48. cool. did you play untill you had blisters from it ?
