The final and concluding part of this seven part review exploring the failed system, the Philips CD-I. If you haven’t seen the previous six parts, you can view them using the links below. *** NOTE ONE *** The save feature isn’t really a flaw. The older cartridge based systems used save batteries as well, NES, Genesis, SNES, N64, etc. The only difference was the battery was on the cartridge. The Saturn and the Sega CD also had save batteries inside the system and eventually the batteries for all these aforementioned systems and cartridges will go out and need to be replaced. I can’t believe I didn’t know this beforehand. *** END OF NOTE ONE *** Part One: www.youtube.com Part Two: www.youtube.com Part Three: www.youtube.com Part Four: www.youtube.com Part Five: www.youtube.com Part Six: www.youtube.com Part Seven: www.youtube.com

For once, an actual enjoyable Indy game. I’d definitely suggest playing it, if you get a chance.

I really enjoyed this series!
I’m sad you’re on a hiatus, no matter where you are, home, accounting agency, the moon, nintendo, jail, atlantis, good luck, I’ll just wait, your videos are woth that, also, in the future, if you ever return, in the description, put something like everything copyright nintendo and Phillips, it’ll help you get out of lots of trouble.
cdi just failed but was okay at a “nintendo nor sega nor sony doesnt exsist” type of view. luckily philips recently backed out of making ANOTHER gaming system last year.
@thee3nd if you could review Superman 64 for “bad finds” i would appreciate it.
I wonder how a random guy felt when he bought Zedla’s Adventure for 20 bucks in the 90s. Then sell it for 150 today.
SMCB: I like the CDi
Someone else: WHAT?!
SMCB: It makes for some funny YTPs.
Someone else: Oh, good.
Actually you are right.I haven’t played hotel mario ever but I always believed it sucked untill I saw actual gameplay. Then, without shame or anything I always say that only the cutscenes suck. And thanks to you I know that Zelda’s adventure is decent/good too.So let’s say that Zelda’s adventure is the triforce of power owned by good forces in a parallel universe of Hyrule XD(Still though. You’d expect that they’d make better cutscenes. They could even use 3d stuff…)
I have never played the CDi games ( Only on a bad emulator, that has to be worlds worst ) so i cant say anything about the games.
To me it’s the heinous movie clips that make these games ridiculous. I burst out laughing watching the unaltered opening of hotel mario ever time I see that lame looking walk and bowser’s inappropriate laugh. I just don’t see how the authors could have overlooked how ridiculous those clips were.
I’ve calculated the length of all the videos in the CD-i review. I’ve come up with a total running time of 92 minutes and 32 seconds for all seven parts combined. That’s just over an hour and a half. That is truly impressive.
@avatarchrisrocks I dare you to actualy look at mpario bros. 3 cartoon. All of them.
@CheapJabroni Yes, buy a console in a shop 15 years after it came out. Having a good time finding a NES game at your local wall-markt?
@thee3nd The Playstation wasn’t the first to impliment a Memory Card. The NeoGeo AES was actually the first to impliment this ordeal.
I have a CD-i now, and it’s such a piece…
Hotel Mario’s “Mindless Paroding” are because of the intro and the toaster cutscenes, yes the cutscenes are cheesy, and that’s pretty much why everyone’s saying Hotel Mario sucks.
@CheapJabroni Maybe he didn’t find it so he went on Ebay to buy it.
You are a cheap jabroni, why get it on ebay? Just go buy it at the store!
Hotel Mario was a good game because its like this: Not bad animation, but voices aren’t bad, even though its not Italian(In Super Mario Super Show, Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario World didn’t as well, but they are good Cartoons. And the games are fun.
The whole series of videos is very impresive… I mean, I can really see you admire the AVGN, but unlike that fucker Irate Gamer, you do have a style of your own, and the whole porject was great, even that I’m picking it up over one year later after you finnished it. So… well, congrats xD…
Keep making these videos bro.. ima super hardcore gamer.. but im a piece of shiit when it comes to research.. and thats why i have people like you to rely on
@JayGB87 Oh man that must’ve sucked. Do you still have the console or any of the games?
If nothing else, the CD-i was educational. It taught you just how much you’d suffer if you blew $500 on a worthless piece of garbage.
@LudaChris06
Actually that was the first Zelda game I ever played beleive it or not lol, and I stayed away from Zelda games for a long time because I thought they were all gonna be like that!
@JayGB87 Oh haha, how’d you feel about the Zelda game? Did you think it was a waste of perfectly good money even at that age?
@LudaChris06
Believe it or not I had the first zelda game that came out for it lol. I had a Sesame street game, escape from cyber city, alot of kids learning games, and I can’t remember the rest.
The two graphic adventure Indy games for the PC were good, if you like that sort of thing.
Oh man I remember this game very well. Been at least 15 years since I’ve played it but it was so much fun. I grew up watching the Indiana Jones movies so this game was definately one of my favorites for the SNES. Probably still the best Indy game ever released.
The last crusade on the Genesis wasn’t that bad
Amazing game. This one and Super Star War Trilogy is of my favorite SNES games. The only flaw in this Indy game is that they didn’t include all the adventure (which is understandable) for example: motobike chase with his father from Last Crusade, Boat Chase also from Last Crusade. Any other stuff in this game is brilliant , the music , the sound is very Indy like. The atmosphere is superb and difficulty balance is well done.
Great review and thanks for bringing memories back.
@filmnstuff isn’t it enough with that level he mentioned? that was a great level
@Proof1280 cool thx for the update . I’ll get to it.
i LOVE THIS GAME. But just one thing you mentioned that I didn’t get.. that they should’ve added the airplane fight scene. It IS in the game. Or at least.. there IS an airplane fighting stage/level in this game I’m sure of it.
snes is awsome and when i was a little kid indiana jones was my fucking HERO and i still love to watch him kick ass today!
i couldnt figure the whip how do i get or find it???
Thanks for the video. I think I’ll buy this when I get my SNES replaced.
Once I played an N64 Indiana Jones game and it sucked and ripped of Ocarina of Time.
@filmnstuff That was the one problem with the game, you’d blast someone away with a machine gun only for them to get back up again. Although the levels were good and you really felt like Indiana Jones. I had hoped that ‘Staff of Kings’ would have been quite similar….. it wasn’t.
you’re absolutely wrong about the difficulty being “Not too hard” or whateverthefuck you said.
In The Last Crusade levels, there are a few that really take the fucking cake. Easy: just to see what your dealing with. Medium: a bear, nothing special. Hard: Fuck this.
if there was a legendary mode… i’d destroy the game itself.
I swear you have got to do games from the last decade.
great game, ill buy it.
actually, harrison ford was 65 when they MADE(not thought of making) the movie
Nice review my man, Thanks
Best Indiana Jones game ever made.
You didn’t mention the sound of the game, which I think they did really good, and I am in love with the SNES version of the Indy theme. But overall, great review, and I agree with every point you made.
This is now on WII Shop Channel to anyone who wants to play it.
same here im not gonna lie it was the first indy movie i saw (after seeing it i saw the others) and me as a teen thought it was fine stupid at parts but fine so if u older fans are wondering if younger audiences will hate indy cuz of 4 dont be thats stupid to begin with
I dont think it was Spielberg, Lucas is loosing his writing talent. I doubt its the directing, as with the new star wars movies, its most likely the script. I personaly liked the movie, sure it was no Raiders, but it was still a fun movie to me. Then again, I liked I Am Legend while everyone else seemed to hate the movie.
Great review, not to over the top like most reviews are now. Just right!
Thanks for pointing that out, coruscant100 I thought they didn’t exsist until ps1 was born, really the only Indiana Jones game that I have is the Staff of Kings.
Lucasarts also made this game if you did not know.
