Videogames are an art form made up of visuals, sound, and a mysterious little something we call gameplay. Limbo is the perfect example of these three crafts working together in harmony to create something astounding.

About a decade ago I came across a game that I had a short love/hate relationship with. I loved it…while it lasted and hated it for being so short and easy! That game was Yoshi’s Story and many people felt the same way. Being that this was the only other side-scrolling game on the N64 (US side) besides Mischief Makers, the odds were against it. 3D console games were kind of a new thing at the time and Yoshi’s Story was being sold as a 2 1/2D game…what the heck? Commercially, the game did alright, but it was a critical failure. Why was this game so widely disliked? Well, now that this game is available on the Virtual Console for the Nintendo Wii, I set out to reexamine what I loved…and hated about this largely overlooked gem of a game. I would like to thank Josh for being in the video and letting me egg-ify him, my parents for watching this video many times and being supportive as always, and of course to all of my very supportive subscribers and everyone else who gave me encouragement and constructive criticism, and of course YOU for watching! The music at the beginning and end of the video is by me and you can download this track (last half of PSmegamix5) and others for free on my myspace page (destructure047) All other music belongs to their respective games. By the way, the song that plays while I’m talking about the soundtrack isn’t on the soundtrack! Bummer I know! Any skipping in the video game footage is not representative of the game, this was due to lag …

Classic Game Room HD reviews REMINGTON GREAT AMERICAN BIRD HUNT for Nintendo Wii. It’s Duck Hunt for the new millenium! Waste flocks of birds with reckless abandon as you send those pompous, feathered, hollow boned monsters to a shallow grave. Shoot ducks, turkeys, quail and other winged wonders with a variety of Remington brand shotguns. What could be another sub-par sporting game turns out to be a fantastic party game with good production values, excellent aiming and controls and straight-forward simple gameplay. This CGR review of Remington Great American Bird Hunt shows gameplay on the Nintendo Wii with straight up game play from Remington Great American Bird Hunt. CGR is playing with the Wii controller in the Buckshot Lock and Load shotgun accessory, a must for this game. You can also use the Wii Zapper or just the Wiimote. CGR digs this game because it oozes fun cheesiness and “Hunter Vision” to slow down time. The challenge in the game is excellent as you play through the tournament mode and slowly increases with difficulty as birds fly in erratic paterns and the sky fills with birds that you can’t shoot. Good times, Remington Great American Bird Hunt is good, old school style bird shooting action reminiscent of the classic Duck Hunt on NES.

Classic Game Room HD reviews TOY STORY 3 for Playstation 3 (also for Xbox 360 and Wii). What do Toy Story 3 and High Plains Drifter have in common? Watch and learn… watch and learn. Play as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Zurg and the crew from the Toy Story movies in this E 10+ rated game aimed at a younger audience. Rich with solid visuals and easy to pick-up-and-play controls, Toy Story 3 does everything right except provide a challenge. Players who enjoy spending time in a game where they collect stars, items, trophies or achievement points and toys will dig the game, but those looking for a real gameplay experience should look elsewhere. It is ideal for kids who love the movies because Toy Story 3 the video game looks just like the movie! The production value is impeccable and Disney Interactive Studios, Pixar and Avalanche Software have done an excellent job bringing Toy Story to life in an interactive fashion. The toy box mode is a nice addition to the game as well for fans of collecting and building.

Marmaduke-Toy Story 3- Great Family Fun

Toy Story 3 is almost here! It is slated for release on June 18th and has already sold a ridiculous amount of promotional toys and other paraphernalia. I haven’t met a soul who didn’t enjoy the first two films of the trilogy, my daughter included. I decided to give my daughter a test run at the movies over the weekend since she hasn’t been to the theater since she was two (she is five now) and we plan to take her to IMAX in two weeks to see Toy Story 3. I wanted to be sure she would sit through an entire movie before I spend money on the big event! I was not all that excited to see Marmaduke, but we had free tickets, so I wasn’t worried about the movie not turning out to be a blockbuster.
You probably know by now that Marmaduke is a movie about a Great Dane who wreaks havoc everywhere he goes. The dog speaks as do the rest of the animals in the film. I’m not a huge fan of talking dog movies, but Lili got a kick out of the trailers so I assumed it would at least entertain her. Much to my husband’s and my surprise the movie was a riot. It was adorable and very funny. Owen Wilson was very convincing as Marmaduke, a loving and goofy pet dog who seems to find trouble everywhere he goes.

I couldn’t picture a Great Dane with a voice as calm as Owen Wilson’s but it suited him to perfection. George Lopez was absolutely hilarious as the cat Carlos who lives with Marmaduke. The second he started talking we knew the movie would be full of laughs. The other animals were played by actors such as Keifer Sutherland, Fergie, Marlon Wayans, Damon Wayans, Jr., Steve Coogan, Emma Stone, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and, of course, Sam Elliot as Chupadogra!

I assumed that poor editing would distract me as I watched the animals move their mouths to speak. There were only a few moments when the animation was not as convincing though it was hardly noticeable and it didn’t matter at that point because the movie was so much fun. Crowds are tough to please these days and don’t laugh as easy as they used to, so I was a little embarrassed that I laughed out loud a few times by myself!

Marmaduke is constant entertainment that includes comedy, drama and its share of suspense. It’s a great movie for the entire family that is appropriate for children of all ages. There are very few adult-themed jokes that easily go over children’s heads but are sure to give you a laugh. Needless to say, my daughter loved Marmaduke and was very proud that she was able to focus for the duration of the movie. We look forward to seeing Toy Story 3 in a few weeks!

Toy Story 3 is an upcoming 2010 computer-animated 3-D film being produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the third installment in the Toy Story series and is scheduled for release on June 18, 2010, in the United States.[1] Lee Unkrich, who edited the previous films and co-directed the second, takes over as director. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen have been confirmed to return to voice the characters of Woody and Buzz respectively.

According to the terms of Pixar’s revised deal with Disney, all characters created by Pixar for their films were owned by Disney. Furthermore, Disney retained the rights to make sequels to any Pixar film, though Pixar retained the right of first refusal to work on these sequels. But in 2004, when the contentious negotiations between the two companies made a split appear likely, Disney Chairman at the time Michael Eisner put in motion plans to produce Toy Story 3 at a new Disney studio, Circle 7 Animation. Tim Allen, the voice of Buzz Lightyear, indicated a willingness to return even if Pixar was not on board. The film’s first teaser trailer was released with the Disney Digital 3-D version of the film Up on May 29, 2009.[18] On October 2, 2009 Toy Story and Toy Story 2 were re-released as a double feature in Disney Digital 3-D. Andy is departing for college, and his toys, including Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz (Tim Allen), are going to be put in the attic. Before they can be put in the attic, they are accidentally thrown away and are picked up by the garbage men. The toys find themselves at a local day-care center, where they must try to survive the playful but careless pre-school children. Woody attempts to save his friends and find themselves a new home, but matters are further complicated when Buzz is damaged during an escape attempt. The toys try to reset Buzz, but end up causing him to revert to a Spanish version of his delusions of being a space ranger, much to the other toys’ discomfort.

Toy Story 3 – Is This the Movie That All Merchandisers Have Been Waiting For?

So what have Pixar done this time that will please an ever growing audience of Toy Story movie fans and also the many, many companies who produce merchandise that fills our departments stores? Well there are a few new characters such as Rex, an endlessly worrying and insecure dinosaur or Twitch, an awesome half man half insect action figure. This will enhance the product ranges of many merchandising companies and enable more products to be generated by the increase in demand once the film is launched. Action toys are a good example of this as each comes individually packaged and allows for a collection to be built.

Will Toy Story 3 capture the imagination third time around? This is a definite yes, as already many product manufacturers remember the huge demand for Toy Story 1 and 2 merchandise. It helps that there are still the big name stars behind the new version, Tom Hanks as Sheriff Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear and now Michael Keaton as Ken, not forgetting Whoopi Goldberg as Stretch. If that does not do it then perhaps the fact that the new film will be released in 3-D may get the audiences flocking to the cinema to see how many of the characters have adapted to this format.

Can Toy Story 3 top Avatar as the biggest grossing film of all time? Avatar managed to gross over .7bn in 2009 and with Titanic way behind on just over .8bn in number two position it will be interesting to see if Toy Story 3 is able to capture a bigger audience in 2010. Disney and Pixar have been slowly releasing more trailers and established promotions with companies such as Lego and Mattel as the launch draws nearer. Only recently Steve jobs of Apple showed a demo of Apple’s new iPhone OS 4 using an iAd for the new Toy Story 3 movie, which gives the new film a premium promoter. All this promotion is sure to get shoppers turning out in their thousands to get their hands on the latest toys, video games and many other forms of merchandise.

With the credit crunch not long behind us, it was surprising to see the popularity and expense paid out after the Avatar launch, it it just goes to show that even in times where money may be harder to find, we still manage to make sure our little ones have those latest toys and games that are brought about by new movies such as Toy Story 3.

Toy Story 3

Generally, I don’t like threequel because most of the time they suck. Sometimes they suck so bad, that they actually make you wish you never started the saga. But I’m looking forward to this one.

Toy Story, a tale about toys who come to life when their owner Andy or any other human is not around, is one of the best movies I’ve watched. It’s nearly as good as The Lion King. Toy Story is the first computer animated feature film. So in some ways we can thank it for movies such as Ice Age and Shrek since it opened the way and others followed. For a 1995 movie, it looks great. The elements which can make you notice that it actually is from the 20th century are the hair and the clothes which barely move or don’t move as it would in real life. Other than that, it’s a real master piece.

Toy Story 2 was even better than the first one. The only thing I didn’t like was the way it made me feel guilty about the way I took care of my toys. Especially the part where Jessie says: “You never forget kids like Emilie or Andy. But they forget you.” So to make myself feel better, I kept repeating to myself: “It’s just a movie and toys do not come alive when you’re not there or have feelings” – Right?

Just when I had finally managed to get rid of my guilt, there comes Toy Story 3.

Plot: Woody, Buzz, and the rest of their toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, departs for college. – By the way, does anybody know where/who Andy’s father is?

That kid seemed to loves his toys so much that I was sure that he would have kept them in the attic then maybe give them to his kids. I hope that they got there by mistake and/or that he will come back for them.

Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Rex, Ham, Barbie, Mr. and Mrs Potato Head are back with the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Jodi Benson, Estelle Harris and Don Ricless. News characters/toys are:

Ken with the voice of Michael Keaton

‘Chuckles’ The Clown with the voice of James Anthony Cotton

Ned Beatty also has a role in the movie but it’s unknown since Pixar wants to keep fans in the dark for the time being.

The script was written by Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine (2006)) and Andrew Stanton (Toy Story (1995), Toy Story 2 (1999) Finding Nemo (2003)).

It is produced by John Lasseter (The Incredibles (2004), Bolt (2008)) with Darla K. Anderson (Monster, Inc (2001), Cars 2006) and directed by Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 2 (1999), Finding Nemo (2003)).

Toy Story 3 will hit theaters on June 18th 2010.
