you know…i didnt like ff13 cuz of its linear style and battle system but im ganna give ff13 a 2nd chance and buy it again and play it with a open mind then get this one later
FF GAMES ISN’T WHAT IT USED TO BE. UNTILL SQUARE GOES BACK TO MAKING GREAT RPG’S(LIKE FF4 TO FF9), ANYTHING FROM FF-10 AND BEYOND IS NOTHING MORE THAN SOME PRODUCER’S FETISHES OBSESSION WITH FASHION SHOW GIRLS/ WEARING HIGH HEELS SLAYING MONSTERS 10X THEIR SIZE.

@tkoizumi How was FF- XIII a commercial fail? It’s the best selling game in the series.
I firmly believe the turning point for this series was the departure of Matsuno part-way through FF12. If he had stayed and finished the game I think it would be held in the same regard as 6, 7, 8 and 9. It’s a shame how the series has gone, it doesn’t even seem like they’re stuck in the past, they just have the completely wrong idea of what their audience want.

and for the most part I didn’t care much for the FF series. It was only recently that I tried both FFIX and FFXIII and I can definitely say that the former was much more engaging. It was charming and inviting instead of trying to be trendy and ubercool. I cared about the setting, plot and characters. Can’t say the same for FFXIII or, for that matter, FFVII. Not everything is tinted by nostalgia.
it feels like a proper final fantasy and im a fan of old and new games but ffx remake will be even better
pretty spot on review, xiii-2 is better than xiii and im enjoying it so far, biggest let down for me is the auto saving, if you mess something up and hit an auto save point you have no choice but to carry on, doesnt happen often though.

There aren’t much JRPG out there anymore like it was in PS1 era and I think it was a gutsy move by SquareEnix to redo a commercially failed FFXIII. I respect their effort and I believe it’s important to support them by buying it. Unfortunate rise of western RPG, we are beginning to see a blur between RPG/FPS/action genre. I am sorry to say but I hate western RPG for being so generic and lack of artistic style. Just because they smack a stat screen on FPS doesn’t make a good RPG.

I gotta say: Gamespot’s reviews are sublime compared to IGN reviews. I convinced myself not to get this, because I did get bored with XIII, but this does look so much better.

@nelsonta00 strategies are the paradigms for and the whole debate about auto battle can be thrown right out the window because it’s optional not a mandatory thing in the game. Also no thinking in the game? Have you ever beaten a long guior the immortal ceith in both games? Then you’ll see how little thinking you may believe there is in the game
