    I used to love the AVGN until he generated so much hate towards this game. VERY under rated.

    Great Review! I loved this game when it came out. A lot of people either don’t know it even exists or just assume it sucks. The mood it creates is amazing. The amount of replay value is very high. I recently started playing it via emulator in 1080p with anti aliasing and antisotropic filtering with 2xsai filter. It looks amazing this way. One thing i noticed on the physical machine is that if you turn on the high res textures the frame rate drops considerably. I would leave the high res off.

    @XEHANORT1000 i actually own both Castlevainia and Castlevainia Legacy of Darkness and they are both great games yea sure the camera angles are fucked but i managed i made the angles work for me and you sir wouldnt know a good game if it bit you in the ass

    castlevainia LOD and CV 64 were my favoirte fucking games on that system ahhh i remember that that chainsaw weilding frakenstein used to scare the SHIT out of me lol i always jumped down into a ditch so he couldnt get me lol xD ahhh the 90s…how i miss them :(

    Man, they need to do a remake of this cuz man i only played cv64 never knew legacy of darkness existed. -_-

    Legacy of Darkness and 64 are too Tomb Raiderish for my tastes. Curse of Darkness is very nice. More like a 3D SotN.

    this is one of the Castlevania games gets over looked its very under rated so people should give this a shot if your a Castlevania fan

    I like the first cv64 and not once have I been killed because of the camera angle, which you can move around btw

    Lol I just found out this game exists, I’m gonna buy on the net, I only played Castlevania 64 and I thought it was tight. Everybody hates and shit but I thought it was sweet. I like that knight guy with his gun just walking all chill shooting shit.

    Playing the game as Reinhardt with his alternate costume brings more nostalgia than with his main outfit

    I’d rather pla this game than any xbox360 or ps3 game out today,. Seriously, this game had great story, music, art, and a great plot.

    @XEHANORT1000 you forgot Ogre battle 64, Perfect Dark and Zeldas games, imo thos are among the top ten of any N64 list games (specially OB64, still waiting to find a strategy/rpg as innovate and deep as that game)

    Apart from being my 1st 3D game ever as well as being my 5th Caslevania i had ever played, The castle wall scared me as a child. I was that kid who discovered the series from their parents. We own every castlevania to date. I beat 1-5 at the ages of 6-9. Played LoD after my uncle brought it to my house one day. But Damn, Everytime i got to the wall, i would die from falling. This game is STILL hard for me at 18 but it’s still a good game nonetheless. One of my Favorites.

    Capcom just should have released this game n not Castlevania 64. The C64 was more annoying to play with due to it’s glitches. I had the same dilemma with you, Knightwing01. I spent most of my time miscalculating my jumps n falling to constant deaths. However I think the story plot to both games were quite excellent n overall fun to play. I’ll try soon to rematch those ledges at Duel Tower.. xD
