2009 BMW 335d Review

MPGomatic.com puts a 2009 BMW 335d to a week-long road test, rolling up over 750 miles in search of the ultimate combination of fuel economy and performance. The 335d’s 3.0-liter twin-turbo clean diesel delivers the goods. Full Review: www.mpgomatic.com

Part 2 of 2: Classic Game Room reviews NINTENDO 3DS hardware from Nintendo, Nintendo’s answer to gaming on mobile phones, tablets, iPhones, cell phones and everything else that is cutting into their market. The 3DS allows for 3D gaming without annoying 3D graphics, but the 3D effect can be harsh to look at over lengthy periods of time and doesn’t work well with every videogame.

  1. I drove this thing on the Autobahn for 6 days at high speeds and was blown away by its fuel economy no matter how hard you thrash it.

  2. i love that “eco gauge” helps me manage my E46s mpg.

  3. Decades ago cars were only manufactured in rear wheel drive. I’m sure they got around just fine in the snow back then with enough planning and preparation. I’m sure tyre chains and sandbag filled boots are good enough.

  4. why are EPA estimates of European diesels so far below real world performance – in contrast to some hybrids, which get considerably LESS than their EPA…. do i smell a conspiracy?

  5. @Nashuaam
we had no problems this winter with our chipped 730d 100% RWD :)
It was a very bad winter more snow and ice as usual here in germany, but with good tires and a forward-looking ride you wont have big problems

  6. I own a 330D E46 and its“one amazing car. But this one (335D) is a masterpiece. At least I know which car that will be my next!

  7. @coolerdude44 Aye, yup. Real-world combined numbers will always vary depending on the conditions. With our combined numbers, the pure highway driving is typically 50 percent or less. The vast majority of our highway testing uses an identical route … the same routine, week after week (it’s like Groundhog Day, with cars) …

  8. just wondering, when you give a “combined mpg figure” is that really accurate? for instance, if you drive 700 miles on the highway and 50 miles in the city, of course your combined figure is going to be skewed…

  9. @skyfir3s there is no 335xd .. only 335xi

  10. In Germany the 335d produces 286 hourse power;-)

  11. 44.3 mpg at 64.8 mph, not bad

  12. SOLD! I’m getting one. I was comparing an electric hybrids but wasn’t impressed with the styling or the driving dynamics (especially highway speeds).

  13. Amazing car. Just amazing.

  14. Twice the car my new Jetta TDi is …

  15. Europien cars are the best in the world :]

  16. wildbloodydragon

I own a gas guzzling Camaro Z28 that does 0-60 in about 5.7 seconds.

If only I had the money for a 335d…

  17. Man I want one of these, what a sweet daily.

  18. Not a bad car. Nice diesel by BMW.

  19. Hi I wouldn’t choose this as your standard car in New England. I have had a 335d for the past year and whilst its a great drive in the dry, its scary in the wet and absolutely useless in the snow (even with snow tyres). Haven’t tried the 330XD but that could be a better option – or an audi. hope that helps.

    335i : 0 to 100Km/h (=62.13 mile/h) in 5.6s and 5.5s with xDrive.
    335d : 0 to 100Km/h in 6s.

  21. Just buy snow tires. The car has 50/50 weight distribution. They’re fine in snow with the right tires.

  22. Lot of BMW rwd diesel cars are used without any problems on European roads where weather is quite similar to that. Rwd and snow is a bad combination anyway. Don’t forget, computer keeps all that power under control.

  23. how does it handel in the weather? My concern is living in New England with snow and ice in the winter, how does all that torque affect traction? Any rear wheel drive slip and slide?

  24. obviously d..

  25. so eco-friendly aside, which is better 335i or 335d?

  26. how long does the battery last?

  27. @goldwaterproductions I have experienced greatness.

  28. MrLegoninjaman

I’m quite content on getting a 3DS now that the new Mario games and Need for Speed have been announced. I hope I’ll be able to hold off until the console itself is better and not as Damn hulky.

  29. @mickeymouse12678 get a nyko battery for the 3ds it will make the battery like 7 hours, so there is no reason not to get one now :)

  30. Nintendo 3ds giveaway. More info inside my profile.

  31. @mickeymouse12678 Thats a good idea. Trust me. I got it on release day and theres this thing called streetpass, to connect with the other 3DS owners while you’re focosed on your milkshake. And man: protip, for EVERYONE who dosen’t own a 3DS: you might wanna wait until October or something, ’cause iv’e only met 4 PEOPLE SINCE REALEASE DAY! 4 PEOPLE AND I’M POSTING THIS ON 11/6/14! I reccomend you all wait, but if your anxious to get the 3DS, go ahead. Its really fun if you pick the games right.

  32. Great review :)

  33. mickeymouse12678

I’m not getting the 3DS until they come out with a second revision with a better battery life. Either that or the PSV.

    Also, Vectrex > all.
    :)

  34. IT PLAYS REGULAR DS GAMES?!?!?!?!?!?!? Sold!

  35. @insertclevernickname:
A person who pretends to be something he’s not.

AKA, you pretending to be this guy with “knowledge” when we all know you’re a fucking fanboy.

  36. insertclevernickname

@DinerSals Do youi even know what the word hypocrite means? If so please explain how that applies to my previous comment? im interested to see how you string this one together kid.

  37. @MrSpiderman14 i see graphics as one of its features. and it wasnt really needed but thishas really good graphics for a handheld.

  38. goldwaterproductions

the ds has been out for 7 years and the 3ds has been out for a little over 2 months. of course the ds has a better selection of games. launches are always a problem with consoles. by the time ocarina of time comes out, expect greatness.

  39. @MrSpiderman14 It’s nice to know that the graphics are beautiful. Pretty much 360 graphics. I am just in awe that handhelds have come this far and are really making a name for themselves. Amazing exclusives are coming and it’s going to be awesome to play them. Not that graphics make everything but i’m a believer that graphics need to complement the game. Whether real or cartoony. Can’t wait for the new titles and the eshop with older games. It’ll be awesome to have a collection of Loz on it.

  40. @insertclevernickname:
    Seriously.

Fucking 20 year olds know what the fuck fanboy means. Get outta your rock, hypocrite.

  41. insertclevernickname

@DinerSals Is “FANBOY” a derogetory word? Im 32 so im not up on all the “net lingo”, besides given my age Im pretty sure I’d be a “fanman” hehe, lighten up kid, its a neat toy, thats all.

  42. i got my 3ds just a few days ago,and i am very impressed. SEE dsi owners. now i am in the higher level.

  43. EngetsuChange

if i wan to play game i more prefer good gameplay than good graphics

  44. supernickyX45

3DS? no i say game boy!

  45. you guys who think hes a fanboy are idiots. watch his other videos morons

  46. @lifethelifetoday
Have you been using a paper 3DS?

  47. @insertclevernickname:
    What an amazing conclusion.

No, wait, what a FANBOY conclusion.

  48. I hope they release ‘portable vectrex’ soon.
