How many of you actually played SMB2 on the NES when it was new? How many of you were aware back then that, in America, it wasn’t really SMB2? The story is somewhat common now but I think this awesome oddity is still worth a look. Is it really too hard for American players? Super Mario Brothers 2 The Lost Levels for Famicom Disk System / NES Repro I’m no expert on the NES or the biggest Nintendo nerd either so if I get something way off base, blame it on ignorance and/or laziness. Thanks.

What the fuck are you drinking?
Important question.
If you play Cat Mario (Symbon action) This game is easy.
@hereliesmypride Heh, it’s no scam, I had a very pleasant experience with him! Just follow the instructions he gives you on the page and in emails. I emailed him at the address he gave, he tells you what to do. Basically you’ll tell him what game(s) you want, send a payment of $25 and ship a donor cartridge that matches the game you want. Then in about 3-4 weeks I got Mario 2 back in the mail, simple as that. He was very nice and professional about it.
phreakindee, will you please please please please tell me how i can get this game
off of nesreproductions? can you tell me exactly what you did to get it just so
I can make sure it is not scam, please reply soon. thanks!
@phreakindee Well thanks to the Wii Virtual Console we all can play the original SMB2 (under its Lost Level name on the download page) which is much harder then the dumb down one on All-Stars plus thank to Retrozone (RetroUSB.com) you can use an actual NES controller using their Wii NES Retroport (a NES controller to Gamecube adapter) that fits into the Wii’s Gamecube port 1 to use your Nintendo brand NES controllers and it sells for $16 and they make a SNES one too I say buy one.
1:14 夢工場 = 由美子嬢

wait what was it called the website i want to copy and paste it i am lazy plz tell me what is it called
@mariobro890 =l ok then it took me an afternoon but alright
i want to play Japanese part 2 really fucking bad
@phreakindee Very nice review.
As a kid, I had Super Mario Brothers 1 and 2, and I really never knew the truth behind the second. Just amazes me.
The US Super Mario Brothers 2 may be some DokiDoki Panic remake, I think it has it’s fun moments, but I’d also like the real SMB2 that the Japanese got.
I know it’s on my Super Mario All Stars SNES cart, but I must say the NES/Famicom Japanese SMB2′s graphics and style are just pure awesome.
I’d like to try to get the NES Repro like you did. =D
a challenge is always good
@highwaysonyfan87 Did you even watch the video?
I brought this up rather early on, showed All-Stars and gave my reasons for wanting to play it on the NES rather than a remake. I prefer the original, not the SMWorld-like retextured SNES version. “Enhanced” is a misnomer.
for the snes, Super Mario All-Stars was released and included mario bros. 1-3 and the lost levels(mario 2 in japan) with enhanced graphics and sound.
so if you wanted to review the game without emulation, you could have gotten super mario all-stars and with the ability to save in all the games.
@TheCoolman209 A donor game is a cartridge of a game that is going to become the reproduction cartridge. For this one, I sent the guy a copy of Bill Elliot’s NASCAR for the NES, and he turned it into a SMB2j cartridge.
What is a doner game
lol I have both on my Wii! And Yeah It’s called the lost levels but the title says SMB:2 I was thinking, “What the heck Nintendo? You went and released SMB 2 in Japan and gave us a different game here?!?!?” But both games are actually really good aside from the awkwardness SMB2USA had…
ahh…i loved this game.
stayed up for 2 days straight and beat it.
(without world 9)
you can also play this game on Super mario bros dx for the game boy color.
i like the american smb 2 but this is still awesome
Well, Doki Doki did introduce Shy Guy and Bomb-omb enemies. So that was good.
THIS VIDEO WAS UPLODED ON MY BIRTHDAY LOL
@onpon4 What about Super Mario galaxy 1 and 2? Luigi jumps higher and is more “slippery” than Mario.
@xeemo Considering this was played on a real NES that’s not too surprising!
wow, the sound on that sounds more accurate than the VC version.
I just love this game. I’ve beaten it once in Mario All-Stars, my next goal is to beat the original. I really like Luigi’s physics in this game and I wish they had retained that difference between Mario and Luigi in future games… too bad they didn’t.
