my brother thinks that a game doesnt need gameplay to be good. it needs graphics. i should show him the snes and genesis versions of the game.

  2. You forgot about amiga version,it has best music from all of them and its the fastest one.

  3. @Ketorulz lol yes. Just got my hands on that one ;)

  4. @RichieEastside Genesis version does have the best controls.

  5. @nyerguds PC CD version to be more specific.

  6. The best port is the PC version :P

  7. Yep, besides the “faster” processor in the Genesis, the SNES was technically superior in almost every way. The Genesis didn’t even really have a 16-bit sound chip.

Yeah, I never really played in the arcade, so I didn’t notice the flaws in the SNES version. But even after playing the SNES port of MK3, I can no longer stand how sluggish 1&2 are on there.

Hah, CD-ROM load times are a major reason I didn’t get a CD console until 2003.

I think you should have included the home computer ports as the MS-dos version makes the Snes one look horrid.

  9. why did you ignore the MS-DOS port and also the Gameboy port? The MS-DOS mortal kombats ports are almost arcade perfect.

  10. Real Good Video!!!!!

  11. Hey liked this video alot! I too grew up on the Snes version of MK1 but I think if they took the character sounds and the music from the snes and put it on the arcade it would be Outstanding!

  12. It’s been a while since I’ve seen that. Wow, time flies. :)

  13. @RetrowareTV I didn’t like the arcade version, I much preferred it on the Genesis. The controller was a lot easier to do the combos for special moves and fatalities and such than the arcade controls.

  14. @SatansMullet LOL there was some moron posting a comment saying that the genesis version was better than the arcade version. Stupidity annoys me.

  15. having played each version back in the day for me the ega Drive (Genesis) version was best overall despite it’s faults… I’ll take instant loading, full gore and decent gameplay over the Sega CD’s annoying loading and the SNES’s lack of gore, slitchy animation and horrendous gameplay/controls anyday!!

  16. I Grew up with the snes version and looking at this revieuw, is still think SNES had the best port

  17. I also hear that the Mega Dirve port had a Japanese subtitle over in that region. Full name was Mortal Kombat: Shinken Kourin Densetsu. Anyone know what that means?

  18. grat video man *****

  19. Damn the Sega CD has the washed out look of the Genesis but plays almost like the arcade, gore and everything included I may have to track this version down.

  20. i snes looked better and sounded bette, but i didn’t like the game play it was slower and glitchy

  21. great review, great job on explaining all the differences

  22. OutlawzConnect1

i still have the super nintendo version, i dont play it no more tho.

  23. The SNES could have blown them all away had they kept the blood and gore. Seriously.

Great video keep up with good work. Sweetality!!!!!!!

  25. Dudes, OF COURSE the Arcade version is the best version, that was never in question. It was the hunt for the best PORT on the consoles. Thats what these videos are all about.
