Here is what I do in order to get my game machines looking good and dirt free. If you are looking for one way to do it or how I do it than this video may help you out. If however you have you’re own way of cleaning game machines, please feel free to add a comment or such to this video. *Warning* Please note that some other cleaners may have undesired effects such as fading or removal of print on your machine, like anything experimental I recommend trying it out on something that is already bad or can’t get any worse before trying something on a machine that you really love or has a very high value. The product that I use in this video is something that has helped me and I’ve used it on systems that are really in rough shape so if you are going to experiment with other cleaners, do so at your own risk. WD-40 does not leave a sticky residue nor have I ever experienced it removing the paint off the original systems so for me it has worked very well. Thanks

I use WD40 to clean and shine my Lexus engine, but I never thought about using it on my game systems. will it damage the inner parts or should I use it first before reassembling the console?

Heh… interesting. My own personal method of cleaning my Mega Drive is to
- take the system apart
- gut the aftermarket Nintendo video adapter that was in there (yes, it was in there when I purchased it)
- get a rag and wet it with soap and water, and then wring it out so that it’s lightly damp
- tackle each and every tiny space on the motherboard, case interiors and exteriors
- put the system back together
- let it dry overnight
It’s just my own way; I dunno about anyone else here.

i used wd 40 on my mega drive and it came up amazing

Hey, do you know if this will put the shine back into a 64 cartridge. A couple of mine are dull from using nail polish remover.
Personally I use windex to clean everything video game related. I damped a little over a cotton cloth and wipe it on consoles, cartridges, and controllers. It works perfectly, but I think, I going to try this, since I never though about it.
after my genesis model 1 died out, i bought a model 2 off of ebay and it had dirt all over it so i used an old shirt and sprayed some wd-40 and it looks magnificent:D

However, I do have what looks like a black spot on it the WD-40 couldn’t remove. Would a magic eraser pad work? Or if WD-40 couldn’t get it, nothing will? It’s not a huge spot; I’m just being nit-picky.

i´m using Meguiars car products (for interior cleaning) to get my console clean, they look realyl good after that
yes it is shiny…..until it gets covered in finger prints, which the shiny surface seems to attract.

I caught that skunk utilizing an oversized arapuca live bird trap from Brazil. I was hoping for squirrel but beggars cant be choosers. upon offroading in the woods of the Nibelungs with Big Blue i came across a homeless man walking alongside a broken rupp. He gladly jumped in the back of the chyane for a ride. As for the Indian maiden i cant say but the maidens dead infants corpse assended from the lake. i hade to drive at least 72 mph to escape. sadly the homeless man died from ruppthritis

OK, that could work. But just remember that I sometimes like to cook chicken for about 10 or 12 hours at high temperatures until the chicken pieces are darker than black charcoal and uneatable.
Also I sometimes cook ramen noodle anf throw stale bread in the batch when its all done….assuring that NO-ONE will want to eat any of it…….
Is that going to be a problem???
