On March 28th of this year, the Hankyu Department Store chain decided to hold a Nintendo Museum inside their Osaka Store for their 100th Anniversary. The Nintendo Museum spans all the way from their early years as a playing card manfacturing company, right up to the present day’s Wii console. A fasacinating insight into the world of Nintendo that any fan will get ahuge kick out of… This is part one, covering the toy years… Be sure to also check out part teo, the video game era when Nintendo suddenly exploded into a massive world wide company. (The response link at the bottom of this video will take you direcelty to it!)
Video Rating: 4 / 5
The museum didn’t have the Disney cards they made?
@gunpeiyokoifan The Ultra Hand looked like something they could’ve easily marketed in the US if sold through a distributor during that time. Looked like a fun gag toy to sell to those that may like playing stupid tricks on their friends!
@YoJimBoHugabaJoe A shame they didn’t try to get into the US market early with those toys. We didn’t quite see that happen until at least the late 70′s with companies like Tomy showing up.
@christianlavin It’s called the ULTRA HAND!
@yankees9494 Still it was a nice try in the hopes the game would’ve worked. No doubt they were a little shy in trying to play that one!
So, 9-volt had an open house?
My favorite toy of that video would definitly be… the Ultra Hand, the first toy Nintendo had, and Yokoi made… its what also got Yokoi hired for toy making and then later on, game making…
most of the toys in the video I believe are made from the super awesome genius, Gunpei Yokoi. =D
the doll looks more like the a character from animal crossing. the mii was revived idea that never worked out from the famicom days.

I think that Nintendo still got Ideas from its toy roots, The doll at 2:22 might be 1 Inspired Idea for the Mii’s, The toy cars might’ve been Ideas for Nes (Famicom) games & There’s the Duck hunt gun (what Idea did they put that in a game). & there’s the wiskey bottle, A Idea for a joke that the Nintendo employe’s got Drunk when making Nintendo games.
