Part 2 of 2. Classic Game Room HD reviews the Hyperkin RETRON 3 video game console that plays Super Nintendo SNES, Nintendo 8-bit NES and 16-bit Sega Genesis video games. It even has S-Video (which works for Genesis and SNES) as well as standard composite video. The Retron3 comes with 2 wireless controllers which are acceptable for NES games but have poor Genesis button mapping. More importantly though, the Retron 3 allows you to play with your original controllers for Genesis, NES and SNES!! Now, that’s a feature!! This CGR review of the Hyperkin Retron 3 shows gameplay from several video games including Gaiares on Genesis, Ultraman on SNES and Zanac on Nintendo Entertainment System NES. This video shows the s-video quality of the Hyperkin Retron3 compared to a modified Sega Genesis Model 1 and demonstrates the audio quality. Video quality is very impressive and audio is not bad, although it lacks some of the dynamics that the original Genesis produces. Overall performance was awesome and CGR thinks that this console should not be overlooked when shopping for replacement old school systems. Flexibility, quality and original controller compatibility make the Retron 3 a bombastic classic video game console.

It’s funny how Peta scared so many Nintendo developers back then. Similar to how they changed blowing up the hamster in Maniac Mansions NES port, (I own the cart that allows you to do that lol) they made it so you couldn’t kill the dogs in Narc.

This is one of the few games for the NES that is so bad it’s good. Me and my buddies will always love this game. Yes, the arcade game was better, but I played this one so much, it stands out much more to me.
hm, I thought you could blow up the dogs with your rocket launcher.
I remember me and one of my friends used to play the crap out of the arcade version. That and Gauntlet 2. Nice videos, loved your nes collection videos.

can it play megadrive games
since the motorola 68,000 and risc 65c05 type proccesors will not be made annymore,they must realtime emulate those proccesors on the today’s arm type proccesors to make those old games compatible, wich is not easy of cource also all funktions of those consoles needs to be cloned.
it,s just amzing how close emulation is to the real thing.

ahhhh i see soo sega is the hardest game to play on 3rd party consoles that explains y the retron 3 dosent play some sega games soo far it dosent play any of my rpg games like shining force and shadowrun =( messege comes up saying u must play these games on the sega genesis….

@jjvictor66 Most definitely it will happen. I assure you but maybe not Retron maybe something more like Millenium 3. And hey how about one for Playstation 3, Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast? They could call it the 90′s 3.

FC3 is probably better than the Retron 3. Same compatibility issues, but the wireless controllers on the Retron 3 are annoying as shit. You’re best off just getting a Retro Duo and buying a regular Genesis on the side.
