Another cartoon created by Hannu Mäkinen as a teaser for my next Review/Walkthrough, which will be on “Mega Man 5.” Be sure to check out his other work and subscribe: www.youtube.com
Video Rating: 4 / 5
Power Punch II (by American Softworks, for the Nintendo Entertainment System platform) – All 1st round victories speed run – Part 1. Performed by Daniel T (aka DTysonator) on a real Nintendo Entertainment System home console, recorded on VHS, and digitally produced by “cyriades”. Part 2 – www.youtube.com Daniel T’s own description of this difficult feat – “Fight the Power!: Mark Tyler does a good impression of Mike Tyson [who was serving time in jail at this point in time], with the exception of his pink boxing trunks, scoring an all 1st Round victories speed run” Daniel T indeed destroys this old school boxing game! Napalm ned XD
I almost fell from my chair XD
great surnames…
Crystal Dave XD
Uh…what was Crystal Dave’s partner in crime called? “____” Heavy?
@AqualungGameReviews it didn’t get bad but its like Street Fighter, I think anyone can agree with me on this: How many times can you rehash the same game? Megaman is the same deal: Same old stuff, few ‘new things’ here and there but same old deal: Blue guy goin after the Doc. Though I would be interested in seeing a review/walkthrough of Megaman 9 or 10 (9 i hear is hard as hell), seeing how Capcom went back to old school NES style. Keep up the good work Aqua!
“In Fahrenheit ya scum bag!” LOL Epic win quote
this reminds me of the show home movies for some reason
where’s gravity man?
was he aqualung’s partner?
Napalm ned XD
@Mangadget999 It ‘is’ Proto Man’s scarf. I thought it was pretty obvious we were setting up the Mega Man 5 events to be taking place behind the scenes of this cartoon (notice that Wily took off with the scarf).
I thought the scarf was belonged to Protoman because he does wear one…
Love it love it and love it. Keep it going!!!
@ Aqualung…are you sponsered by Youtube?? If not, you should be.
That was all Hannu. Almost all of the ideas of this cartoon were his. Check out his commentary on this cartoon on his page, it provides some good incite.
I just gotta know. How did you and Hannu come up with some awesome surnames for the Robot Master’s?
Stone Man is in the video but he is only heard, not seen.
No Stone Man?
Mega Man 6 probably will become a long time teaser and were been an epic one because Aqualung must traveling around the world to search for criminals as the Robot Master represent different Countries.
Of Course, It is the last one on NES before Mega Man 9 release into today Console with early NES style.
I’m amazed you were able to spot that. I got a little lazy there but working with that dark shade of green was doing hell on my eyes so I didn’t bother removing Ken’s arm in some of the frames.
I removed the previous comment cos I know how much shit I’d catch.
Let’s me try this again:
The video is pretty damn cool. G-Man(Gravity Man) has one of the coolest accents ever! The only issue I have is the fact that Star Man seems um…you know? Like someone that I’d see on BRAVO!
holy shit
”Damn, this fucker ‘s fast”
Dude, Mäkinen’s a real natural!!! Awesome!!!
Wow this video is awesome.
Would be cool to see something like this again from you sometime
I love this video!!!
This has to be the only teaser I’ve actually liked by that animator. His drawings had more in them than the previous videos and the video itself was quite creative. The MIDI music was also a good touch to the MS Paint drawing style.
@LSweet2007
Correct, and it would have been, but before the game was released Mike was charged with the rape, so they had to change the character (although they did little to change the sprites).
@bioo80 lol
You forgot to fight the guy with just 2 arms and no body?…
I hated this game, and what made it worse was you had to press the damn ‘select’ button for the special punches!!! Must of been the first in history to use a select button!God Awful!
Mike Tysons Punch Out 2
BIting Ears off MArtians
Locutus?
@AbhiB,
Yeah, you’re absolutely right. It was originally going to be called Mike Tyson’s Intergalactic Power Punch, but while the game was in production Tyson was tried for raping Desiree Washington and the project fell apart. The designers didn’t want to promote Tyson anymore, so they cut all references to him from the game (as well as Tyson’s manager, Don King) and replaced him with Mark Tyler, who is still vaguely styled after Tyson.
I take it the player should have been Mike Tyson ?
Holy crap, this guy is insane at this game…
I remember playing this as a kid, but can’t remember how far I got…but JEEZUS…
The people that made this definatly made George Foreman’s KO Boxing.
was intened as a sequel to punch out….but ended up getting turfed and later put out by people that had no standards
true but nintendo didn’t want to publish it because they didn’t like the game so they gave to ASC the people who made the first GTA game.
Yeah, Arena.
Classic cinema.
it was very unbalanced
Could it the name of the movie in question be “Arena”, daff3w? There is a review of this game by NeoTurboPad, where he mentions this movie.
Although I have never seen it yet, I plan on doing so just for kicks, er, punches
.
it was intended to be, but the project failed so it turned to this.
what was the name of the movie that was like this game
Ya man!!!!!!!!
The boxer was supposed to be Mike Tyson!!
Yeah, he seems to be a cyborg/droid trainer, NinjaGhostScorpion . No human would be able to absorb that kind of punishment
.
What the hell is up with that trainer?! Seriously, I was laughing my ass off each time he got beheaded.
I never knew there was a Punch Out Part 2
At least it had strategy. But not as much as the first one.
Amen to that!
Yes that is somewhat true, PrinceSteve32281, since the game was originally going to be called Mike Tyson’s Intergalactic Power Punch.
It seems more like an unofficial sequel, since it was not produced by Nintendo like the original Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!, but rather by American Softworks Corporation. Whatever the case may be, the game is not close to the greatness of Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!.
