A video review / walkthrough / showoff video of Mega Man 2 (NES), with retrospective audio commentary. Part 6 of 6: Dr. Wily stages 5 and 6 and end credits. Highlights include a few perfect or near-perfect boss fights, an easy kill against Metal Man, goofing around with special weapons, and quickly getting to the final boss without being hit.

    @GeminiLaser You can destroy 2 of the walls for the boss and grind on the mets from the continue point, so you’ll have to 2 bombs left.

    MegaMan 2 is still too easy. It’s the only MegaMan game that I can casually play on hard mode.

    I remember ALL the trouble I had with the final stage, Whenever I got hit by the lava I would SCREAM! And I died like 16 times on the final boss, And ironicly when I beat the final boss for the first time, I did not get hit AT ALL!!! NOT A JOKE!!! I WAS SREAMING MY BUTT OFF! ….But I sadly didn’t record it. DX One of my best childhood acomplisments and NO one gets to see it.. ;( I HATE YOU YOU MEGA MAN 2!!!!

    In and of itself, the ending scene is very reflective and could certainly be sob-inducing.

    when i was but a wee lass i used to get all sobby with this game’s ending scene, no lie! i don’t know why, but every time i saw that ending, i just felt the need to wanna cry my heart out for Mega Man! maybe i’m just a softy at heart, :P

    @GeminiLaser Here are my three main reasons.

    1. Two words: Buebeam Trap.

    2. Two more words: Force Beams.

    3. That part of Wily 3 where you’re falling down that water-filled vertical corridor with all the spikes. That thing is the main reason as to why I had no E-Tanks while fighting Buebeam Trap in Wily 4; I got a Game Over so many times!

    Also, I love the rest of the series. MM6 is by far my favorite. Why? Two words: Silver Tomahawk. That, and it’s just the most fun to me.

    I’m not wild about FFVI, either, but it seemed appropriate. Out of curiosity, what’s your beef with MM2, and what’s your opinion on the rest of the series, then? There’s no need to fear this particular fanboy–go to my blog, Exfanding [dot] com, and search in the sidebar for: STOP LOVING MEGA MAN 2.

    I don’t know why, but I find it kinda funny that you reference my least favorite FF game in an LP of my least favorite MM game. Meh, maybe it’s just the amusing coincidense…and I should stop talking right about now, because I’m likely to get a lot of fanboys down upon me.

    Glad you approve. :) I had played MM4-5 before playing MM2, so I wasn’t very surprised, but it was still a fun idea.

    Completely valid. The way I see it, as long as it’s fun for you and accomplishes whatever you’re looking to accomplish, then you’re all set. Though you’re right, it’s sort of anti-speedrun.

    yeah, filming one-handed and playing with the other hand can be a problem (and messy), as i have found to my cost. ps. Tomorrow’s World was never this good.
