Final Battle & Ending for a Video Game Vault Review: www.gametrailers.com Screwattack Home: www.screwattack.com (I don’t work for screwattack, I’m just a fan) Final Battle Vs. Thanos and Ending for Marvel Super Heroes War of the Gems on SNES.
Classic Game Room HD reviews DARIUS TWIN for Super Nintendo from 1991. This is a horizontally scrolling side scroller SHMUP for the Super Nintendo from Taito. One of many in the popular line of Darius games, blast sea creatures, lobsters, fish, underwater alien space ships and octopi into bits with your space ship. Play one player or 2 player co-op on screen at the same time. Darius is challenging and plays well on the 16 bit SNES, is it one of the best SNES shmup shooters? CGR doesn’t care for the music or bland visuals that much. If you played Darius Gaiden on the Sega Saturn you may not either, but the gameplay is somewhat similar. Power up your space ship and blast everything that moves, collect weapon and shield upgrades and rack up arcade points. This CGR review of Darius Gaiden has gameplay from Darius Gaiden on SNES showing game play from this side scrolling SHMUP in action.

ugh
hmm… didn’t remember the Thanos was THIS boring when playing this O_o
), so after I won this one, I never really picked it up again, so my memories of this are a bit blurry. still, I remember having fun with one, as opposed to the X-Men one. didn’t like that one all that much
oh well… I have to admit that, at that time, I had a ton of games to play (emulation rules!
1:31 spidey throws an elbow to the nuts. after that, thanos didnt wanna play anymore…
I alwayse wondered why capcom didn’t make as many sider scrolling marvel games as they should have (I know of only 2) I mean, yeah the fighting games were great but i really wanted an x-men/spiderman/avengers 4 player beat’em up made by capcom…. (guess I’ll have to settle for the konami X-men and Konami avengers games.)
Haha, it looks like Spidey beat him with a punch to the groin!
Hulk DESTROYS Thanos. Just sayin
I like the ending music
Thanks for the video.
This game sure was a sausage-fest, huh? No gals anywhere.
hello vermilionx
here i will left to you information about the gems:
red gem increases speed to move faster through the time stream,
the yellow gem increases perceptions power to get hidden items easily,
the pink gem increases attacking power,
the purple gem increases jumping height altering gravitational fields
and the green gem increases life force to have the double of energy (the life bar will be green)
good bye and good luck
Nice game!
i was 8 back in tha day when i played this…memories of my childhood at its best 4real..lol
for what it is evry gem, inever knew
I always liked all the thanos theme songs
i liked the remake better. Marvel Super Heroes was my first game for playstation.
Damn straight.
Galactus then later punks the gems from Warlock. What a waste for the avengers
Damn, Spider-Man’s combo is vicious!
I love this game. Its the most badass game I’ve ever played on the SNES. I got far in this game and was never able to beat Thanos. I ALMOST BEAT HIM!
Thano’s dying noise: “Ugh!”
The music to this boss fight is badass.
i remember the first time i beat thanos i was like 9 and it was playing whit iron man
Spiderman kicks ass!
You kidding, right??? Thanos pratically didn’t do nuthing
So thats it!!! What a lame ending for Thanos, He didn`t exploded or make a sound only banished, what a crappy ending.
I FIRST PLAYED THIS WHEN I WAS 9!
darius twin certainly isnt better than darius gaiden, but darius gaiden certainly isnt as good as G-Darius
3:21 WIND SQUID!
@JonO387 Winliest win ever.v Did he ever acknowledge it, or did he not get the reference?
WindSquid?
@MatticusFinch1820 somthing like that, yeah.
@BillyCauseyjr
Saturn = shitty console with amazing games.
@i8246i if they had skipped the saturn and released the Dreamcast a year earlier they woudld still be around.
in retrospect the saturn is a good, but needless console.
@MatticusFinch1820
slowdown??? the only time I ever experianced lag on an snes is with a fighting game. (mostly Fatal Fury special)
I love this game!!!
This game is still good but as you said, not a patch on Darius Gaiden. But it’s still nice to play.
@ 5:35
it’s a Giant Enemy Crab!
the SNES is the last place i would think to play shmups due to the slowdown on that console but this looks pretty cool. i have Darius gaiden for saturn which is really fun.
shut the fuck up the Dreamcast was a great release but however i must agree with you on the Saturn screwing up the Dreamcast as well as Sega’s overall reputation
i still have this game i really want to play it too bad my snes is broken
You know, I refuse to shed a tear for a company that never learns from its mistakes.
SEGA had plenty of time to come out with a machine that was more powerful than what they had…
And its not like they didn’t have previous experience with Nintendo kicking their butt (NES vs Master System) to understand that they had to come out strong and STAY strong.
But, they didn’t learn anything, released the Saturn and the Dreamcast, and nearly pulled an Atari on us…
I’ve experienced plenty of slowdown with the Genesis.
And the arcade of Ghouls and Ghosts didn’t have the grating “clink! clink!” noises that the Genesis makes because its sound capabilities are just…crap.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the Genesis Sonic games and their music, I love how some games sound on the machine…but if there was a multiplatform release, the sound quality was better on the SNES.
Nice review, but I disagree in a few points.
It’s not really fair to compare this to Darius Gaiden, which is a game from a superior generation. You could’ve commented about Darius Twin Vs. Darius II (Sagaia) on the MD or the PCE-CD.
And Darius Twin isn’t a masterpiece, but totally crushes Arrow Flash, a bland and boring game with horrible sounding music IMO.
OK, I’ll give you that. Genesis Ghouls N Ghosts’ music can’t touch SNES Super Ghouls N Ghosts’ music. But the Genesis title WAS very faithful to how the arcade sounded. Almost EXACT. Super Ghouls N Ghosts was built from the ground up on the SNES and really took advantage of the Sony sound chip. And it did sound GREAT! Now I know this is a seperate issue … but if you want to talk about SLOWDOWN … the Genny had NONE. But the poor SNES started to crawl once too many sprites hit the screen.
I knew a kid in school named Darius, and he was a twin.
The Genesis version of Darius II was called Sagaia for some reason!
Genesis Ghouls N Ghosts music and sound effects = HORRIBLE.
Super Ghouls N Ghosts wins not only with better music, but better graphics.
i had this game when i was little, it broke, and my babysitter tried to fix it, and i couldnt remember the name of it when i first discovered emulators, and even when i was little i couldnt find the title to buy a new one. i searched SNES Shmups to see if i could find it, thank you to the author of this vid.
i used to think the bosses at 2:30 shot ice creams at me
ooooh yeh, this game kicks asssssssssssss.
i used to play this game everyday in the 90′s
japanese game maybe cause japan is a bunch of islands?
