@sparx401 Actually that makes me think WAY differently. You’re right, now that I think about it. I can’t remember the last time I used a Wii remote for a game. I play GC and N64 games for the most part.
@TheBigBloop1000 I don’t see why it would be hard. For those that use the Classic Controller, hack their Wii to accommodate other controller types or play games that are compatible with the GCN controller, it wouldn’t be that hard. I occasionally go back and play my SNES, N64, and PS2, and the controllers just fit right.
Also, handhelds are essentially controllers and systems integrated into one hardware piece, so I’m sure gamers haven’t “lost” what it feels like to play with a reg. controller.
@sparx401 I see. I don’t know why, but maybe I just find it hard to go back. Like a Wii remote. Wouldn’t you find it kind of weird going from a Wii remote back to a controller? Uness of course you’re one of the people who detest the Wii Remote.
@TheBigBloop1000 Well, it could’ve been Jennifer Hale from the Metroid Prime games, but they need to settle on someone “less popular”. This is where Kingdom Hearts appears on this end of the spectrum where they have high-profile people doing voices, but they generally are movie stars before videogame VA’s. Also, any 2D games (or even a Metroid 3DS) could go back to silence or just with text boxes. I don’t think it would be awkward at all.
@sparx401 So they’re really working to not disappoint with her voice. Most games would just pick a random voice, so I have to say, they’re taking initiative with her voice . If she keeps a voice- and I think it would be awkward to go back to mute after 1 game with a voice- do you think they’ll use her voice actor for the rest? Like Charles Martinet and Mario? How many times did I just say ‘voice’?
@TheBigBloop1000 I heard from an interview that they chose Samus’ voice to be a particular way (not girly but not gritty either) to reflect the fact that she has been a lone bounty hunter for so long, and so human interaction is kinda hard for her. You can tell her VA is speaking in a way that isn’t horrible, but she isn’t trying to be the “Perfect English” gal.
@LINK890000 I see what you mean. And yeah I do agree that it’s not right to give her a voice. But the voice fits her, I think. At least they didn’t make her sound all girly. Ps. If they gave Link a voice in Skyward Sword or any Zelda Games for that matter, you bet I’d be pretty pissed.

@shrint thing is, they show her at different times, so once scene she has short hair and another its normal, i think they have flash backs and stuff, and i’ve seen plenty art work of samus, trust me

@kamekazifox OH…i gotcha. everything makes sense now. yeah true – i haven’t played it, and actually metroid (kinda like zelda) really never sucks, so it’ll probably good. but in the words of a blogger i read recently – “it will be good in SPITE of its limitations.” i.e., if it is good, which it probably will be since it’s metroid, it’ll be good despite these poor design choices we’re seeing.
i do like that they’re putting focus on the story though, even if i think samus’s design looks dumb.
