Classic Game Room HD reviews the SEGA GENESIS MODEL 3 which was produced by Majesco and was the smallest, cheapest and lightest Sega Genesis from its era. While there are a handful of games that don’t work with the Model 3 Sega Genesis like Virtua Racing (which sucks anyway, 32X version is better), the Model 3 Genesis offers a smaller footprint and typically lower price. It also does not work with Sega 32X adapter, Sega Power Base Converter or Sega CD add on. It does work with the Sega Nomad power supply and the Sega Genesis Model 2 AV cables.

Love the music for this game. I remember when I first met Dan. I never expected such monstrosity. Jennifer gazing the horizon on top of the clock tower at the end, credits rolling. Classic.

The reason the model 3 genesis wasnt compatible with the CDI and 32X is because sega realized how much it sucked and how much of a failure it was so they left it out, it would just be a waste of of time.

the model 3 is actualy obsolete cuzz it has has no stereo output,no rgb,s-video outpu???
it lacks a essential pin to power the 32x,the virtual racing cartride,gamegenie,sms convertor,and maybe also other games wich are incompatible with it,has no input for the sega cd addon.
and since those chipsets were reduced,it,s not compatible with sms games.
this becomes very frustrating if wanne play a game on it wich does,nt work.
I had this model. The cost reductions are obvious from the get-go. Although there’s a 9-pin output plug-in on the side of the casing like the model 2 , it does not output stereo sound. The very first wave of Genesis model 1′s and all model 2′s are the only Genesis models to have stereo sound. Also, the 6-button game controller’s performance seems caught between normal and turbo speed while sifting through in-game menus. It’s a cheap piece of crap, and it was sold as such.
