Classic Game Room HD reviews XENOPHOBE for the Nintendo Entertainment System NES video game console from 1988! This unique mulitplayer side scroller saw many versions on home consoles after the arcade 3-player machine became popular. This 2 player game from Sunsoft (the arcade machine was Bally Midway) loses much in its translation to the NES. Is it still an enjoyable game to collect and play today? After the popularity of James Cameron’s (writer director) ALIENS in 1986 Alien stuff was everywhere! This game was clearly inspired by the film and it shows in many ways. Waste Xenos (or Xenomorphs as they’re called in the movie) with a small variety of weapons in repetitive levels. Frankly the arcade game was a lot more fun than this, but the Classic Game Room review of Xenophobe shows gameplay and footage from the game that may be to your liking. Classic Game Room is the retro reviewer reviewing NES games from Nintendo in the 1980′s and Sega Genesis, Atari 2600, Colecovision and more. Don’t suffer from xenophobia (not Xenaphobia, that’s fear of Xena the Warrior Princess. We all suffer from that)
“Just because the graphics are better doesn’t mean the game is better” – Classic Game Room HD fights the evil Jaquio in Ninja Gaiden for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Ninja Gaiden is recently seen on the Playstation 3 in Ninja Gaiden Sigma, some 20 years after the 1st game… so you know this game has something going for it. Great music, great story and great cutscenes. But does the gameplay measure up? Is it as good as Revenge of Shinobi? Check out Classic Game Room HD’s review of Ninja Gaiden. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The HD series is reviewing PS3, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360.
Video Rating: 4 / 5
it thought there were going to be xenomorph aliens…
When I play Dead Space I see this game… Ship at :40 looks like the one that boards the Ishumria
Dammit I saw a xenofobe arcade machine on kijiji but someone bought it
Ahhhh……Hill’s. My mom worked at one when Iwas growing up. Ours had a Final Fight machine, Ghosts and Goblins machine, and WWF Wrestlefest machine. And if you were under 12 years old, you could get a free small popcorn.
Listen, Titansone this guy is funny and cool with the games
this game sucks
you obviously dunno what a review is do you? hence the talk
Rampage was an excellent arcade game.
Two player was so much fun, trying to kill eachother, omg, loved the game….so many years ago…
I remember Hills. Hills is where the toys are!

You can also find it on Midway Arcade Treasures (at least the PSP version, haven’t tried the others).

This game is good, but i like the Atari 7800 version better.
yeah the arcade xenophobes ruled , my favorite character was and still is Mr. Eeze .
The Atari Lynks had the best version of the game. If you have the Atari Lynks, please do a review on that game. ^_^
one of my favorite games. Dr. Kwack rules.
i just found this and kid icorus in my closet lol
My friend and I played that all the time on NES, sorry to see that it has not aged well.
Also, I’m sure 20th Century Fox would have an issue with a revival. Bu I’ve been wrong before.
i still own this game lol
Hills was awesome!
i had this when i was a kid… never understood it???
Yeah, it also looks about 100 times better than the NES version.
dude its not gayden its guyden and i know the game is spelled gaiden
THE best intro of any NES game, truly epic
ninja guy-den
Ninja gaydin?
Are you serious you just said Ninja Gaiden had sloppy controls? That is just objectively wrong.
This game’s like Contra in the sense that they give you a lot of ways to move and dodge things, but the game still manages to keep you on the edge. It’s like you have these smooth controls because you’ll need them to survive the high difficulty.
I don’t know what you are talking about. The game was difficult, but you could move around mid air, catch walls, and “flip up” walls even, and the controls were very tight. There are frustrating parts, the birds are tough… …yeah it is one of the toughest NES games ever. I only beat it twice, and I played it all the time…. but level 6-2 woudl throw me into rage tantrums a lot.
you say ninja gaiden wrong
Brings back memories of my childhood. It was one of the most difficult games I have ever played. As far as I know, it is the very first game that used the cut-scene movies in a game and it did wonders for the development of the story. Awesome game, I couldn’t play it as an 8year old in 1989; but I went back in 1994 as a 13 year old and I did manage to beat it. Amazing game!
What do you mean they had to shoot that shot? Your telleng me the took that shot from a video camera, no way! Somebody drew that.
This will always be one of my faves on the NES.
@KarriganMuFFinFan That’s what makes it excellent!
@MrAmonkey7 It’s pronuncied Gaiden not Gayden, because it is japonese not english.
good veryold times for me !
Man this brings back memories, we always called it ‘Shadow Warriors’ in my part,
it’s still just the exact same game though,
I loved all the little story cut scene bits too, particularly the one at 4:53

@DemonGodBrothers I agree, the SNES had some badass music.
@TwistyMcFisty
don’t forget 16 bit tracks! the music for sonic 1 was heaven to my ears, the music to yoshis island was the happiest sound i’ve ever heard!
@lalalastick High five accepted and reciprocated.
