Classic Game Room HD – IKARI WARRIORS for NES review

Classic Game Room HD reviews IKARI WARRIORS from SNK for the Nintendo Entertainment System NES. This 1986 version of the arcade masterpiece is bright, loud, shooty and it’s Ikari Warriors! You can almost see the sweat on the beefcakes running through the jungle machine gunning mindless waves of enemies. Take command of tanks, helicopters and foot power as you shoot and destroy everything that moves. Play with a friend for 2 player co-op gameplay. This Ikari Warrios review has gameplay footage from the NES game cartridge, Ikari Warriors showing game play from the Nintendo Entertainment System. Classic Game Room HD reviews NES games as a retro reviewer reviewing classic NES carts like Ikari Warriors from 1986. Old school shooting awesomeness. With other SNK titles like King of Fighters being released today, will Ikari Warriors be remade for the PS3 Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 XBLA any time soon? We need a modern remake of Ikari Warriors with Robotron style controls! This Ikari Warriors arcade machine had a very unique rotating joystick design, too bad the NES version does not.

  1. ClassicGamer88

I personally like Heavy Barrel a lot better

  2. An nes game where you play as a shirtless guy with a bandana and a machine gun….that’s great SNK but i have to be honest Konami made a game with a very similar concept that was a whole lot better.

  3. I’d love to see this game with updated graphics sort of like what they did with Bionic Commando, maybe they could call it Ikari Warriors Reloaded or Rearmed or something like that.

  4. Good memories. As a kid, me and dad could play this title for hours each night. (Though, it took Jetboot Jack for him to play without me around.) And, I do agree…if Contra can get modern games, Ikari is well overdue.

  5. UsernameRaciel

are Clark and Ralf – king of fighters(neo geo mvs) !!!!!!!!!

  6. The arcade version is awesome. The NES version… not so much…

  7. Great review I really enjoy it..

  8. @syxx573 You are a faggot who sucks at it

  9. Lol, I got this game yesterday for 1.2 dollars, totally underpriced, while I got Dragon warrior 2-3 for 6 dollars each. (I live in japan.)

  10. i have that game…i like it….the red dude looks like my uncle…except that my uncle got fat not too long ago :D

  11. Is there anyone on this planet who can beat Ikari Warriors without using any cheats or codes (including the ABBA continue code)?

  12. fatfrogproduction

I love this game its so awesome i have it for nes

  13. EverWinterNights

One thing thats cheesy, is the fact that the dude with the red bandana has a gay cop mustache.

  14. snk moved their ikari warriors characters to good games like metal slug and kof. This game sucked back when it was new and it still sucks.

  15. glitchedgamer

As someone who has no nostalgia clouding their opinion, I gotta say: THIS GAME SUCKS. Well, at least the NES version does.

  16. NinjaGhostScorpion

I’m probably one of the few people out there who liked Ikari Warriors I and II for the NES.

  17. ahhh, the memories staying up with my brother trying to beat this game. the music is so retro. haha.

  18. galactica phantom! ralph jones!! meet the king of fighters with clark steel!!

  19. @tetohmu I liked the Atari 2600 version of this game.

  20. There were this cheat to have unlimited lives. It was pretty easy…like just pressin ababab or like. :)

  21. I’d like to see someone complete this game using just the first set of lives/guys you get. I remember using the “continue trick” over and over and over and sometimes getting stuck behind some of the walls with no enemies to kill me… then you had to wait for the missiles to come flying at you and you BEGGED to get hit, sometimes you did, and sometimes not.

  22. Madmonkeythegreat

lol whats with the death animations

  23. This brings back some memories! Hot game in the neighborhood growing up.

  24. this NES version really sucks compared to the Amstrad CPC 464 one.
All elements are ugly: character, the tank the colors, the way the ennemies die…

  25. Wow, I haven’t seen this game since 1987 and it’s amazing how the memory I have of it is so different. Back then this was considered quality graffics & the truth is that we all loved it & played for hours & hours. What was good about this game was that you could play doubles and it was perfect. I can remember playing with my best friend at the time. The good old days when nintendo ruled the world. I miss those days a lot but now it just wouldn’t measure up to our advanced brains.

  26. @bondomedia Tanks don’t have wheels…at least not like that,

  27. This game… it really is one of the all time greatest, and clearly a top 10 on the NES list. It is a real shame that blaster master 2 (genesis) was so much worse. It is note quite “metroid great”, but almost. And anyone who enjoyed metroid or zelda 2 will most likely love this game.

  28. Great review perfect ending

  29. Sophia’s a “truck”, really? C’mon man, you know better. Sophia is a TANK!
Great review for a GREAT game! I still have my original cartridge. It has about 1000 hours logged on it.

  30. Oh this game was so awesome. So revolutionary for it’s time.

  31. this game gave me the creeps. very creepy

  32. lol.. This is no review, its just a video where the game is shown and everything is spoiled -.-
I already beaten the game, and I loved every bit of it :D

And there was a sequel to SegaGenesis that sucked, and a third game on the Ps1, that sucked even more.

Cant wait for Overdrive comes to EU!

  33. GET UP AND FIGHT THAT CRAB, YOU BITCH!

  34. Reminds me of Metal Slug :)

  35. @Biberhofer i know man! that’s what im talking about! i fucking hate these achievement things, being able to say that i beat hella NES games sounds way cooler than i got 90% of the achievements lulz

  36. I LOVE this game. I still own 1 copy for my NES.

I was never able to beat the game =( don’t think it had save points or passwords, you had to beat it in one run.

    Still a great game.

Me and my brother sometimes played all day and let the console be on all night to beat some games, like Mario 3.

    Great review mark.

  37. acealexander702

lol get up and fight that crab u bitch lmao

  38. man i remember nintendo systems from way back when.. You would try to beat the game to say you BEAT it… not to try for all the fucking achievements !!

  39. The Sophia mk3 (tank/truck thing) is a rover

Also I think they did release a sequel on the segagen

  40. LOL 2:10 metroids

  41. Akureisenshi2

:D Same Twas one of my first games I played when I was just a kid. Why wasn’t this a character on ssbb :p just a thought…

  42. SageProjectile

DO IT FOR THE FROG MAN!

  43. 22 years after its release, this gem still tops my personal NES Favorites list, and ranks very high on my All Time Favorite Games list. In 1988 it was original, refreshing and thoroughly entertaining. In 2010 its visuals, music and gameplay have stood the test of time.

Long live old school gaming. Long live Blaster Master!

  44. i love it too

  45. RageOfTheTiger

same as me, and it was hard enough juts to get there. you can do what i’m doing and get an emulator and use save stats!

  46. Blaster Master,Batman and Journey To Silius were the 3 best Sunsoft games for NES

  47. TheFamilyForder

    NO TURBO 16…?!?!

  48. BillyCauseyjr

Mark should review the Wii remake. (and the sequals)

  49. @heraymo YES, that is it. THANKS
