Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of GALAXIAN for the Sony Playstation 1 video game console system. Not to be confused with Galaga, this is a different game. Similar in style to Space Invaders or Demon Attack, Galaxian is a fun arcade retro old school classic from 1979 that is fun to pick up and play. Shoot the aliens before they shoot you, it’s that simple. This review comes from the Namco museum volume 3 for the PS1. Other games on the disc include Ms. Pac Man, Dig Dug, Pole Position 2 and Phozon. This video marks the first useage of the verb “chewlaxian” which is the art of watching the Empire Strikes Back while playing Galaxian. This should make it on to Xbox Live. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The HD series is reviewing PS3, PS2, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360. XBLA. videos review reviews show wii

u gotta LOVE namco collection volume 3. It has some of the best arcade games ever put on one disc.
Wow, I was expecting for you to actually play a straight up galaxian game with no other games on the PS1, and as I clicked on the link I thought about how there was Galaxian on the old Namco Museum game I had.
Guess what I come across!
I like glaga 88 and glaga arrangement better than the original and this game is harder than them
@bazfanv2 I agree, them games are fun as hell.
Galaxian is badass, but Galaga is even better. Great review!
Playing games for the high score… You just dont see that anymore.
I used to think thethings on the top were umbrellas!LOL
i miss the old scool arcades i grew up with they were the best
i’ll buy that on ebay where is that pac man chest
Greeting fellow Galaxians. Here are a few hints of acing this game:
1-Shoot an attacking ship when it’s DIRECTLY PARELLED on your path.
2-Nail as many purple ones as you can because they are the most aggressive
ones.
3-The game starts to get harder as you recieve your limited bonus ship, so, try
to shoot only when they’re attacking.
4-Try not to allow them to corner you at the bottom elevation…
@SakuraAvalon yeah it does look a little like it
The little ship you have in the game, reminds me of Spaceship from Star Trek.
I LOVE THIS GAME!! SPECIALLY THE SOUNDTRACK!!!
Ah, that’s where the Baton Kaidos song came from when you’re in the 2-D world… Kewl.
Nice vid! And fun & informative commentary…

1 sidenote @ 3:00 : it’s not the game’s accuracy that is poor, it’s your aim i’m afraid – time it correctly and there’s no need to miss!
(sry, had to!) no hard feelings, eh, chewlaxian?
May The 800s Be With You…
i have this game, i always loved the intro
chewlaxian!
man dat cutscene in the beginning jus brought me back….i miss the playstation man
I was only 1 when Galaxian hit arcades.
Hard to believe its sequels are theater-style arcade games.
splendid it gets played a lot during the holidays with my brothers they are brilliant at it. I was lucky and found it perfectly free for my sony ps3 here 115 games (.) com there are thousands and the best thing is they are all free also I must say 1:23 was excellent
IM CHEWLAXIAN MOTHAFUCKA!
I remember I played this arcade in fall 1979, when I was in the 1st high school class, a bar near my school had one Galaxian game for more than three months and no need to say I spent a fortune playing it…a game like this was an attraction for all students, and after a couple of months the glorious Space Invaders game was simply a recall from the past…

CHEWLAXIAN = win.
This game was a revelation when I first saw it at Showbiz Pizza in 1979. (Good grief, that was thirty f’ing years ago. [shakes head])
The multicolor graphics, animation and sound were all way more intense than most games of the time. Galaxian raised the bar.
plasma guns like the use in star wars are very in accurate lol
