Chrono Trigger DS Anime/Trailer!

Chrono Trigger November 25th, 2008 Nintendo DS High Quality viewing available. The return of an RPG classic, with new features! Combining the best of Final Fantasy and Dragon (Warrior) Quest, Chrono Trigger set the benchmark at which all future RPGs would be judged. It returns with new controls, a new dungeon, and the PS1 Anime cut-scenes by Akira Toriyama (yes, the same guy behind Dragonball & Dragon Quest character designs). Note: I added some different in-game music to the trailer. Samples borrowed from bluelaguna.net . Please click on their ads sometimes and support their site! And of course, buy the Japanese soundtracks from places like Cocoebiz.com (who has their own Youtube channel) and http Also I’ve heard from several sources that the Anime cut-scenes from the PS1 game will be included, (Squenix would be fools not to) but this time… no load times! However I’ve only loaded a compressed (literally) version of the intro in this trailer, in-game on the DS (or DSi for you lucky ones importing) expect it to look much better.

  1. -,- stupid

  2. Can people stop asking why does this game look like dbz? Did you not think that the artwork was done by the same person? Besides overall its an awesome game.

  3. InsideAVitalSuit

@deadpeng Because the art is done by Akira Toriyama…

  4. @AlucardsQuest Well, because Character Designer was Akira Toriyama a.k.a. Dragon Ball creator. So, yeah.

  5. @narcolepticchairftw the games actually longer than that not even counting that there are 15 endings

  6. @deadpeng because dragonball was very popular in japan and the creator of it was already doing the art style for other rpg’s like dragon warrior. It makes sense in business to garner appeal based on a popular art style that people recognize.

  7. @LodossInderos1 the cardrige box is showing marle using fire – same thing ^^°

  8. @Spacedragon1000 Download an SNES emulator. And download the ROM for chrono trigger

  9. the anime reminds me soooooooooo much of DBZ :P

  10. FATE’s plan was to permit Square to create on 1994 this game and it’s sequel, and that’s how’ Final Fantasy is born.

  11. guys i think deadpeng already got the answer about 100 times now so please dont comment to him anymore it can be really annoying believe me :P

  12. @deadpeng
Akira Toriyama, the artist for dragonball, also animated for Chrono Trigger.

  13. @SithLordGryffindor lol yoda really

  14. @deadpeng Because the anime is made by the same artist/creator.

  15. @Spacedragon1000 the ds version has a bonus dungeon.

  16. I have the SNES version. I got it in 97′ or 98′ I can’t remember. But the damn thing stopped saving T^T The DS version looks intriguing though :o Also I noticed a lot of mistakes made in CT too, like even the earliest one. On the box cover Marle is using fire instead of ice XD

  17. @AlucardsQuest Characters were designed by Akira Toriyama, that’s why it has that type of look.

  18. @deadpeng Characters were designed by Akira Toriyama, that’s why it has that type of look.

  19. ningeaBLADEclanuBECA

They’ve forgot to name the name of Arnold Schwarzenegger, he’s stronger than Robo!

  20. @mafiamitzy
Akira Toriyama designs and draws for Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest games, so it’s obviously DBZ styled.

  21. @AlucardsQuest
Because it is the EXACT same drawing style, some characters in the chrono trigger games are exatcly the same as dbz characters,, It’s almost as if this is an DBZ game

  22. @LodossInderos1 Yeah, I can only figure creative license for that occurrence. I’m not sure you can take Robo back to the past to fight the king of the Reptites either.

  23. I just noticed a mistake cutscene…..why is Frog with Crono and Lucca on the bridge fighting the skeleton? You fight that skeleton before you go get Frog…..Your only team up to that point is Crono, Marle, and Lucca….

  24. When I saw this trailer, I shit my pants. OMG a Chrono Trigger port! I can’t wait to have this!

A shame though, that apparently the brazilian video game stores were not selling it. :

  25. @deadpeng Because, Akira Toriyama, the person who created Dragon Ball, also did the animation for this game.

  26. I am truly amazed.. there are no words for the beauty of the song and the memories attached to it.

  27. @GorgonBull35 Acid tripping !!!

  28. WhyDidntIInventYT

    Randi: Po Poi! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Purim: Too Late!

Po Po Gets His Ass Handed To Him

    Mana Beast: RRRRRRRGGGGGAAAA

  31. @kiyamotofool the Pentacle and the Pentagram are two different symbols, one’s unholy and upside-down and the other’s Wiccan and rightside-up if I’m correct.
Can’t remember which is which though…

  32. TheVideoGameFreak100

this song is awesome, pure win

    Randi:Damn!

Purim: is that the Mana Beast?

    Po Poi: FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  33. @TheRandomDragon01 Make that 80 thumbs-up and 0 thumbs down. ;)

  34. TheRandomDragon01

I’m suprised, not one thumbs down and 79 thumbs up for liking / disliking this video. Results may change obviously, but still pretty interesting.

  35. Aether is the fifth Wiccan element meaning Spirit the others are Fire Water Earth and Air. Aether binds the other four elements together. All of the elements are represented on the Pentacle or Pentagram (Which, by the way, does not represent Satan or any other demons it just represents the five elements)

  36. crimsondiablos142353

to be fair; that was 7 years ago and in the meantime we have seen several installments due to the world of mana series; all underperforming as far as I know. Frankly, much to my dismay I dont have any hope for a revival of the mana franchise.

  37. IAmTheSecretOfMana

HAHAHA! Good point, neither did I!
Best Game Soundtrack of all time was SoM’s!

  38. nice remix

  39. @memphisjosh It’s possible… They’ve already remade the first game in the series, and Secret of Mana is the second game in the series so, you never know.

  40. Make sure you guys listen to it on 480p, it makes a world of difference.

  41. @Zolatos or that your dad was a sword hehe. Come to think of I never did either

  42. for some strange reason when I played this game I dident question the fact that your mother was a tree.

  43. Absolutely fantastic, brilliant, amazing, awesome, epic, beautiful, perfect, there are too few words to describe how awesome this is!

  44. These Seiken Densetsu arrangements are blowing my mind. . .so nostalgic

  45. WOW

  46. OMG……they certainly did this music justice.I would love to see an updated version of Mana from Square.

  47. Listening to this brought an instant grin to my face. Ahh memories.
