Classic Game Room HD reviews the standard, old school gamepad controller for the NES video game system!! The Nintendo Entertainment System is one of the most beloved gaming consoled in the history of humankind. In 1985 and 1986 video gamers were introduced to the unique and simply styled NES controller that was vastly different from the Atari 2600 joystick that many of us were used to. The NES controller had two buttons, select, start and a little thumbpad. It kicked ass at games like Bionic Commando, Metroid and Contra. Although the little boxy, grey controller is a bit rough around the edges (compared to the sleek Sega Genesis controller), the buttons and directional pad still work very well today some 20 years after it was released. If you have an NES you already have this controller, it was built like a brick, light and although it lacks the arcade feel still works very well today. Bring back the memories of games like Super Mario Brothers Bros. with the classic controller for NES video game awesomeness. Not available on Wii, Virtual Console, Atari, Playstation 2 PS2, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 of Magnavox Odyssey 2. Classic Game Room has over 300 video game reviews, watch them all. This review stars Stella the Wonderdog, a German Shepherd, Chow Chow mixed breed dog.

Wow, reviewing controllers? That’s kinda weird, but really cool. Great idea!
@boredtaco hell yeah fight the power or i guess… fight eachother… in super smash bros…. YEAH
@boredtaco
Conker’s BFD, Mace TDA, Doom 64, Demon’s Crest, Castlevania 4, Contra Dracula X were made by 3rd party companies, not Nintendo. A better example of Nintendo games aimed for more mature audiences are Zelda & Metroid.
I wish I would have savored my NES more. AS soon as the SNES came out, I dumped the NES so fast. However, now I realize how much I loved it!!!
