    I wouldn’t say it’s hard I’d say it’s frustrating.

  2. deathbringer676

um no mean to brag but with no stratigie guide i beat it in one day

  3. hint, he mentioned that you can’t get into the first mansion unless you have the white crystal. this is incorrect. the block is still there, but you can’t see it unless the white crystal is equipped. right after you walk in the first mansion, go right and jump right away and you will jump on an invisible block and you will be moving up and down on it.

  4. This was my favorite old school castlevania game. I scraped together pennies to get this on mail order back in the day. Still have it too!

  5. thesparta1812

this game is better than the first IMO

  6. I never ever go right!!!!!

  7. its one of the hardest till you get to the last boss

  8. @28incubus your ending results in how fast you win the game/how many continues you use. i was disappointed when i first beat it because i collected everything. xD

  9. I’ve only seen one ending. How do you get the other 2?

  10. @kNIGHTWING01 well to be honest, turtles fans were expecting a game like the arcade game for the NES, but instead they got a sidescroller. whether they like that style or not, its up in the air but personally i’ve never played the game, but needless to say there were many very disappointed fans. the sequels were supposed to be better than the original NES game though

  11. There Are Alreaddy Too Many Simon Quest Reviews.

  12. @Yahoodude830 I honestly don’t understand what people see in that game it got repetitive and it was really really easy. There were too many identical or barren rooms. In terms of pacing all the nes titles are superior. It’s a good game but I would consider it far from the best. The ending song is pretty bad too in the US release.

  13. @progamer63 Yup I used to skip that early on to save time. I’d just level up and get hearts in the mansion where time stops and go back when I needed the blue crystal.

  14. @TheDarkMario99 Just run around and kill stuff until you level up and get mad money. Then the game is incredibly easy.

  15. @kNIGHTWING01 Turtles 1 is one of the top 10 best selling nes titles. Everybody had it. It was fun even though it was ungodly hard and required pixel perfect movements a lot especially in the water level.

  16. TheDarkMario99

I HATE THIS GAME ITS SO DUMB AVGN WAS RIGHT.

  17. @TenguGuy my second fav. first was symphony of the night. this totally kicked all the other NES castlevania’s ass.

  18. @kNIGHTWING01 me too! im like the teen version of you! i hate the slimes, spiders, and i even went left the first time i played the game :) and got my ass kicked, and i love AVGN, and dont agree with his TMNT and SQ part. the only thing i dont agree with you is the jumping block thing, you know the one before you get the diamond? AVGN and you seem to have a problem with it…i never fell once on those things. i actually liked this game, i dunno why alot of people hate it.

  19. @AVGNROCKS1996

Nope because James and not many others did a real review of this game. They did a comedic one. Or complain reviews. I like james stuff, but I don’t agree with his Turtles or Simons Quest reviews. He nitpicks to much.

  20. AVGNROCKS1996

    Seriously, No AVGN Reference -_-

  21. you can go in without a white crystal

  22. That was the second issue of Nintendo Power. I remember getting that cover and thought it was great. I still believe it’s one of the best covers ever. Simon’s Quest is also one of my favorite NES games of all time. The music was awesome and hold up to this day.

  23. im gonna buy the cartridge for this game and i will beat it but ill probably die alot

  24. AmericanPython

this is one of the best games evear

  25. hey kNIGHTWING01 you should try Castlevania 4

  26. I always fight Snakeman first because if you touch his search snake his body doesn’t hurt you and you deal a higher damage rate, Needleman because you get an e-tank to help, Topman because he’s predictable and pretty weak to the buster, Magnetman because his pattern is simple, or Hardman because his pattern is also simple. But Sparkman, Geminiman or especially Shadowman are REALLY bad choices.

  27. Actually, I just went back and did a little testing in slow-motion. In some circumstances, Top Spin instantly takes more than one bar, and in other circumstances its drains away the bars so quickly that it *looks* like it uses more. Regardless, the fact that I had to put the game into super-slow-motion to study this means that, as far as the casual observer is concerned, Top Spin uses an inconsistent amount of energy, if not on a technical level than on a practical one.

  28. MastermewtwoALPHA

I’d like to correct you on Top Spin using an inconsistent amount of energy. The thing about it is that a single hit just takes one unit. The problem with it is that, if you’re doing it in the invincible state, it’ll often count as multiple hits. I’m sure it would actually be a totally amazing weapon…if it didn’t have all those problems. My apologies if you haven’t found it out already.

  29. FatetheHedgehog

@n00bzXD lol. I’ma have to try that now :D

  30. @FatetheHedgehog oh, there account is on deviant art studios, if you want an easy way to find there artwork, just search”megaman 9″ for a picture by them of all the robot masters from mm9 killing themselves

  31. FatetheHedgehog

@n00bzXD Thats more reasonable, but I haven’t been to cybermoonstudios

  32. @FatetheHedgehog funny you say that, the picture from cybermoonstudios depics that, he draws pics of all the robot masters killing ea. other)

  33. FatetheHedgehog

@n00bzXD Um… It spins him around and makes him throw up. Sorry thats the best I could come up with XD

  34. @FatetheHedgehog how does a “top” take out a 1337 ninja?

  35. animegamingdude

    @FatetheHedgehog right.

  36. FatetheHedgehog

@animegamingdude INSIDE the enemy? Oh okay, collision/invincibility frames cause you to glitch into them whilst using them. No wonder I decide to take out shadowman manually because I lose all top spin.

  37. animegamingdude

@FatetheHedgehog that’s if you’re inside the enemy while you’re attacking it. Otherwise, it uses little weapon energy.

  38. FatetheHedgehog

@animegamingdude BUT, it blows through its energy like no other. As if its on turbo fire or something.

  39. animegamingdude

@FatetheHedgehog Top Spin isn’t a bad weapon. There’s a good number of enemies that it can kill with one hit and it makes certain Wily stage bosses easier as well (such as the turtle boss and the clone boss).

  40. …How many of these levels are not levels you go to first?

  41. Actually, that’s technically true, seeing as we’re already living in the year 20XX…as long as it’s not 21XX!

  42. zeldaplayer20

@GeminiLaser wily wars will be played by you in the year of 20XX :P

just kidding mate i know your a busy fellow ;)

  43. Heh. One explanation, to be sure…

  44. AUGH! :)

  45. ThePowerOfENumbers

Mega Man goes for a spin! Mega Man 3 becomes a darker game! Needle Man demonstrates his amazing sharp-shooting ability! I make even more bad puns!

  46. Doesn’t mean I can’t do that in The Wily Wars, some day…

  47. PlatinumVegitoSSJ

I can’t believe that you didn’t do a bad Break Man pun like “Hey! Let’s have a break, maan…”

  48. Thanks! And you’re right on the money with everything about Top Spin, but that defining flaw, combined with the fact that you bounce backwards after hitting an enemy (and into a pit, sometimes), is too much for my taste. Now, in The Wily Wars, they fixed Top Spin and it’s actually tremendously fun and useful. Here, it still needs work.

  49. @TheGroup67 Nevertheless, excellent playthrough.

  50. @TheGroup67 (Ran out of characters, cont.)

The reason Top Spin does ‘inconsistent’ damage/costs ‘inconsistent’ amounts of weapon energy is solely this: Shadow Man. Since the nature of the attack is to grind Mega Man’s body against an opponent, it hits multiple times. If you use it improperly, one use against Shadow Man could deplete your guage entirely (in hitting him during his invincibility), also forcing you to take damage (something impossible to avoid using Top Spin on most bosses).
