CV4 is a really great game but so is SotN. It just depends on what you really want to go for… classic CV or a more modern “all around” feel. Brilliant review by the Nerd, he got this one spot on.
@altq64 Are you kidding me? C4 was just as easy, sure a couple of bosses are hard but a few tries and you beat them. And same with SOTN it just comes down to the bosses basically. Both C4 and SOTN are easy if you are good at 2d sidescrollers, the original castlevania was a bitch though.
@Biddybalboa I am basically explaining to these kids why SOTN is a perfect game because I’m bored. But it’s hilarious because mostly everything that everyone has to say is exactly what James said word for word in this video.
@krazykillerhippo A storyline has nothing to do with a perfect video game. Most video games never even had storylines to begin with. If anything the lack of a storyline altogether makes SOTN that much more epic. This game was made in 1997 you seem to forget that. And sorry to say but Castlevania 4 kinda sucked after you beat it the first time lol, but doesn’t matter what I say you are just one of James’ bitches that heed his every word and can’t think for yourself. @CodeV114 Why’d you turn into an asshole all of a sudden? Everyone here like’s Castlevania including James AVGN so I’m not even sure anymore what were arguing about!? He probably turned a lot more people onto the series just with these videos he made so you shouldn’t be dissatisfied with that.
@CodeV114 he doesn’t really cry about hes just pointing out thats is a long game but lets define perfection for a second it would mean this game has a perfect story ( and story isnt that good) perfect gameplay that would mean at any moment in the game where you felt board would mean this game is not perfect the ending music isnt very good and while thats a nit pick its still a fault SOTN is not perfect no game ever will be but is still very close to best in best in series only toped by SCVI

Goto 5:33 and he fucking cries about the castle turning upside down LOL and complaining about the castle being TO HUGE. When you beat the game you really think that it’s over, I didn’t find out till a day later that there was a quest to make u go further and your only 1/2 done. Which was one of the best things about the game itself. This game was an underground perfection.
Also all you dumb mother fuckers don’t even know what game music is. All you dumb bitches who keep complain about the music lmao, SOTN has one of the best game soundtracks of all time. Check out the songs “lost painting” and “wandering ghosts” if you don’t believe me. Those are just two I can think of off the top of my head. Plus I bet all of you fuckin kids were either not born yet or fucking sucking on your mommas titties when this game came out so shut the fuck up lolllll
@Biddybalboa I was just bored lol, and I did go back and watch the whole thing before I wrote most of those comments. There are only a few games I really consider perfect and yeah one of them was FF7 and another was Chrono Trigger. SOTN is truly perfect in my eyes because there are not that many games out there where you really get the gothic vibe of a huge castle. I mean SOTN is in a nutshell transylvania. Yeah he said it was a great game but it was mostly little gripes. Didn’t do SOTN justice.

If you still haven’t seen the entirety of the video watch it. He’s not downgrading it, he said it was an amazing game, then he listed a few gripes he had with it like every game he reviews. Perfect is kind of a stretch, the issues he mentioned were legitimate things to complain about, you can’t just say he shouldn’t mention them. Music wise you should check out shadow of the colossus and PS1 final fantasy.
