I get why earthbound can’t be re-released, but there wasn’t any problem with Mother after translation. Mother on gbc would make me shit my pants in shock. Now, if we even saw a glimpse of opportunity for Mother in America, EB fans would get everyone they know to help nintendo release it.

kind of bad marketing from nintendo im happy that i have the rom of all 3 games the firsht one is great even while i hate the random encounters i advice you to check it out and i wish nintendo would put mother 1 on virtual console it dousent have the same copyright problem as the firsht one(i think)sooo why not?great video btw.

I heard that they may repeat MAY release Mother 3 on the DS in the US. Don’t quote me on this please, its just a rumor. However, if they put all 3 mother games onto one ds card, the universe would explode do to an overdose of epicness. LONG LIVE THE MOTHER/EARTHBOUND SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, Ness is an anagram of SNES, not a play on the NES.
I’m not just pulling this out of thin air, there was a Japanese gaming magazine that said so. The same magazine featured interviews with Itoi and the staff, so that bit of info probably came straight from the horse’s mouth.
I still can’t fathom the inability to properly market this game. Christ.
